CARE – INNOVATE – TOGETHER :
ALIMA ( The Alliance for International Medical Action ) is an international medical humanitarian NGO based in Dakar, Senegal, who has saved lives for more than 14 years in emergency situations and health crises in Africa.
Its ambition is to transform humanitarian medicine by relying on research and innovation to multiply the effectiveness of its actions and better protect the populations of the health cries of tomorrow.
Since the creation of ALIMA in 2009, more than 11 million patients in 14 countries have been treated and more than 30 research projects have been launched – notably on malnutrition, maternal and child health, malaria, Ebola, COVID-19. An action rewarded with several international prizes
ALIMA works in partnership with national NGOs in 5 countries, a model that makes’ humanitarian aid more adapted and effective in the long term, through inclusive collaboration in the co-construction and joint implementation of the humanitarian response, as well as local capacity building.
THE ALIMA TEAM : More than 2000 people are currently working for ALIMA. The field teams, as close as possible to the patients, receive their support from the coordination teams generally based in the capital of the countries of intervention’. These receive the support of the 4 desk teams and the’ team of the emergency department and openings based at the operational headquarters of Dakar, Senegal. The teams of Paris and New York are actively working on fundraising and’ at the representation of’ALIMA.
COUNTRIES OF INTERVENTION IN 2023 : Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Sudan, Chad, Ukraine.
