SOLIDARITY INTERNATIONAL (SI)is an association of’ international humanitarian aid which, for nearly 40 years, has been helping people victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting the vital needs, drinking, eating, sheltering. Particularly engaged in the fight against diseases related to unhealthy’, the leading cause of mortality in the world, SI implements through its interventions an expertise in the field of access to DRINKING’water,’ sanitation and the promotion of’ hygiene but also in the essential, food security and means of existence. Present in about twenty countries, the teams of SI – 2000 people in total composed of’expatriates, national staffs, permanent staff at headquarters, some volunteers..- intervene with professionalism and commitment in the respect of cultures.

The mission

  • Solidarity International opened at the end of 2018 to meet the urgent needs of people displaced by the security crisis initially affecting the Sahel and Central North regions of Burkina Faso. In 2024 the humanitarian footprint of Solidarity International expanded with operations in the North Central, North, Sahel and the Mouhoun Loop.
  • In 2024, the country office is composed of’a coordination in Ouagadougou, 2 field bases, a Far North base in Ouahigouya-North region that covers a sub-base in Kongoussi in the North-Central, and interventions also in the Mouhoun Loop; as well as a Sahel base in Dori that covers the sub-bases of Djibo and Sebba.
  • SI has diversified its portfolio of’ interventions to address both the vital needs for HAE, shelter and food of populations recently displaced by the conflict (RM mechanism and other’ emergency interventions) and the impact of the conflict on’ access to HAE public services and the means of’, also integrating institution building and social cohesion issues.
  • Most projects are implemented in consortium with ONGI and on some projects with local partners
  • SI is part of several consortia such as: RRM-Frontline (with ACF as lead), NEX’EAU (consortium with GRET & URD -SI as lead), Nut EHA SAME multisectoral Health Response integrated in the Yagha (PUI lead of the consortium) .

SIZING OF THE TEAM IN BASE /COORDINATION

  • In June 2024, the mission is composed of:
  • coordination Office in Ouagadougou: 14 expatriates and 53 national employees
  • bases and 4 sub-bases of land composed of 8 to 10 expatriates and’ approximately 100 national staffs

GENERAL OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION

  • The/coordinator/trice Grants and Partnership plays a key role in the development and monitoring of the mission’s partnership and financial strategy.
  • He/she ensures interdepartmental coordination and provides strategic support to the mission on the topics of donor relations, management of the contract cycle, management of implementation partnerships, external compliance and accountability to donors.
  • The/The Coordinator(trice) Grants and partnership will be led to manage a local partnership manager (national post) and a Grant manager (expatriate post).
  • Close collaboration with the/the Director(trice) Country and Director(trice) Deputy Country.

SPECIFIC CHALLENGES AND CHALLENGES

  • Number of major contracts/projects to be managed (13 lessor contracts in progress),
  • Large volume of work
  • The challenges related to reporting remain high in the mission
  • Strengthening of the capacity of PR/RA in reporting that must be multiplied in parallel with group training sessions on reporting in the capital and on the 2 bases where it remains possible conditioned to the’ evolution of the security context.
  • Partnership issues are higher . Partner capacity-building plans must be systematic and realistic
  • The pre-evaluation of partners (prospects) must be scaled.
  • Work on the’ whole risk management Audit & Accountability donors

SECURITY CONSTRAINTS

  • Security context in continuous deterioration with issues of secure management and strong access requiring availability and significant reactivity. Ground movements limited by security constraints.

Your profile

REQUIRED DIPLOMA

  • University training : Bac + 4/5 in Political Science, International Relations, International Development or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE IN THE HUMANITARIAN SECTOR

  • 5 Years

EXPERIENCE ON EQUIVALENT POSITION

  • 3-4 years

TECHNICAL COMPETENCES

  • Good knowledge of the operations, rules and procedures of donors.
  • Experience in reporting/project proposals
  • Strong team management, hierarchical and capacity building skills
  • Editorial skills, analysis and synthesis
  • Initiative, rigour and autonomy

IF will offer you the following conditions

An employee position : According to experience, from EUR 2860 gross per month (2600 base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a Per Diem monthly of EUR 550.

SI also covers accommodation costs as well as travel costs between the country of origin of the expatriate’ and the place of mission.

Social coverage:

L’expatriate(e) benefits from’a quality social cover to cover all health costs and’an accident contingency including war risks.

Break : During the mission, work-rest alternation is provided by breaks scheduled every three months with an allowance of 850 USD.

On the basis of’a mission of’one year: breaks from 7 working days to 3, 6 and 9 months of mission (with a contribution of 850 USD paid by Solidarities).
To these break times, it is necessary to add the’granting of’an additional rest day per month worked or 12 days in addition for a contract of’ one year.

LIVING CONDITIONS

  • The city of Ouagadougou is the capital of Burkina Faso and the largest city in the country. Ouaga still benefits from leisure opportunities (restaurants, sports and cultural activities) despite increased security vigilance.
  • Security rules exist on the mission, with some locations prohibited. The political and social situation being very tense since the 2 blows of’State of 2022, additional restrictions or periods of punctual confinement can be envisaged.
  • The position of Grants and Partnership Coordinator is not open to family or housing status.
