Base/Site Logistics Manager At Water for Good


The Base Logistics Manager is responsible for implementing and supervising the logistical support of Water for Good programs in accordance with Water for Good policies. He/she also assists the Site Coordinator in monitoring security procedures at the Berbérati base.

Responsibilities:

Supply chain

  • Lead the base supply planning process in relation to program activities.
  • Ensure the supply of goods and services.
  • Ensure compliance of the procurement process.
  • Oversee the management of inventories, stocks and supplies.

General Services (residences and offices)

  • Oversee the qualitative management of real estate assets in order to optimize economic performance and security.
  • Manage energy park equipment.
  • Coordinate and control the use of equipment.

Fleet management

  • Supervise the maintenance and repairs of the vehicle fleet.
  • Manage the schedules of the base’s drivers and vehicle fleet.

Security

  • Report safety information on routes or locations to the safety representative and provide feedback before trips.
  • Ensure the application of communication between field teams, the database and the security specialist.
  • Collect incident and security information from department managers or field teams and share with the security specialist.

Human resources:

  • Ensure and support the recruitment, supervision, monitoring and capacity building of the logistics team.
  • Ensure other departments are trained in logistics processes, procedures and tools.

Required qualifications:

  • Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain or related degree.
  • 3 years as a confirmed logistician, preferably in a humanitarian NGO or a UN organization.
  • Experience with Excel, logistics processes (flow management, inventory management) and logistics performance indicators.
  • Advanced knowledge of warehousing procedures.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of the supply chain: suppliers, freight forwarders, carriers, logistics platforms and bases.
  • Ability to develop a procurement plan and monitor a budget.
  • General knowledge of automotive mechanics and electricity.
  • Ability to train and communicate logistics procedures and policies.
  • Excellent command of French.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in logistics and supply chain management in CAR
  • English proficiency
