About FilmAid Kenya
FilmAid Kenya is a development and humanitarian organization working in the Kenya Refugee Operation for over 20 years. FilmAid Kenya harnesses the power and influence of media and the arts to respond to emergencies and promote social change through dialogue to protect the well-being of displaced and vulnerable populations. FilmAid Kenya is working to build stronger, healthier, and more informed communities in health, education, protection, WASH and livelihoods.
Currently FilmAid Kenya works in Kakuma Refugee Camp and Kalobeyei Settlement and Dadaab Refugee camp. FilmAid also conducts short-term projects in Nairobi, Isiolo, Marsabit, Narok and Elgeyo Marakwet. FilmAid Kenya projects include health, women and girls’ empowerment, education and youth, media and arts.
Scope of Financial & Compliance Audit
- The audit will cover the accounts and financial statements (comprising the Statement of Financial Position, Income & Expenditure Statement, Statement of Changes in Equity , the Cash Flow Statement and the relevant notes and disclosures) for FilmAid Kenya;
- The audit shall cover the period 1st July 2023 to 30th June 2024;
- Review donor-specific Fund Accountability Statements (FAS) and review that funds received and expenditure incurred have been applied in accordance with applicable regulations, laid down financial regulations, prescribed procurement procedures, donor regulations or such other proper orders to the extent that these impact the annual financial statements;
- Ensure that proper bookkeeping has been maintained that:
- Complies with the necessary legal regulations, including the generally accepted accounting principles (GAAPs) and others applicable to classification, accounting and valuation;
- Information provided leads to an orderly presentation in the accounting records and the annual financial statements, in line with applicable professional standards;
- The annual financial statements were properly derived and are in agreement with the books of account.
5. Provide an analysis of Net Asset Position, Financial Position and expenditure per program and funding source;
6. Express an opinion on the fair and truthfulness of the financial position, cash position and net current assets, including any key audit matters; and
7. Evaluate compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Interested and qualified auditors with the required experience are invited to submit their proposals/applications to Email address: procurement@filmaid.org on or before 15th April 2024 at 5.00 pm EAT and clearly indicate on the subject line as ‘Auditor for the FY 2023 – 2024’.
The application should be accompanied by: –
- A valid KRA Tax Compliance Certificate
- Year 2024 Firm Practicing License
- Names, experience and qualification of the audit staff to be engaged (place within the proposal document)
- At least three references from non-profit organizations, preferably those of similar nature and size as FilmAid Kenya
- A financial proposal indicating the costs of the audit, any taxes, any disbursements and related costs (all disclosed).
