Qualifications:

  1. Have 3-5 years of’ experience related to this position or a university degree of at least three years in project management and’administration.
  2. Great initiator, who desires to take a course of action and the’initiative.
  3. Be well organized with a great mastery of the planning, management, monitoring and evaluation of projects.
  4. Have experience and mastery of financial affairs.
  5. Good mastery of French and’English and (knowledge of other languages spoken in Burundi would be an asset).
  6. Strong communication skills (Experienced in the’use of emails, WhatsApp and phone) for the work of the’organisation.
  7. Knowledge and understanding of partner organizations or’skill/availability to learn.
  8. L’ability to maintain professional confidentiality.
  9. L’ability to work on important details simultaneously.
  10. Ability to pay attention to detail.
  11. Be of good character embodying MCC values.
  12. Good knowledge of Word and excellent mastery of’Excel.
  13. Demonstration of’excellent time management in reporting.
  14. The’employee must have the willingness to’be flexible in his working hours. While much of the work can be accomplished during the hours of work, 8 hours – 16 hours, etc, there will be times when necessary work needs to be done in the evenings and on weekends. A job outside of normal working hours does not give rise to an additional payment.
  15. Ability to respect the hours of work – be at’heure.

General function of the post

The position is under the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator. The function and tasks include :

  1. Work closely with the Rep(s) Rep(s) of MCC, the Program Manager, the L’Officier in charge of Finance and Administration, the accountant and’ other agents for the capacity building of partners, the’ development of projects and their monitoring and evaluation.
  2. Coordinate the logistics of the program.
  3. Assist in withdrawals and payments when necessary on the guidance of the Representative of MCC Burundi (Rep).

The person to be hired for this position is a local person who will be paid by the’organisation. The contract is d’a year including 4 months of’essai. The’employee must have a high level of mastery of project management, reporting and communication (use of email, WhatsApp and phone for the service). The’employee must also have good relationships with partners and have communication and negotiation skills. The’employee must be honest and have excellent financial and time management.

The’employee must have the willingness to’be flexible in his working hours. While much of the work can be accomplished during the hours of work, 8 hours – 16 hours, etc, there will be times when necessary work needs to be done in the evening and on weekends. A job outside of normal working hours does not give rise to an additional payment.

**Responsibilities (**Other)

  • Accompany partners in the drafting of projects and the preparation of project reports within the deadline in collaboration with the accountant and the Program Coordinator.
  • Helping partners in’autonomisation and mobilisation of funds.
  • Reinforce the capacity of partners according to specific needs, including on policies for the prevention of sexual violence.
  • Assist the accountant in the preparation of reports to be submitted to the government.
  • Inform the MCC Representative, the Program Coordinator and the accountant about changes in financial policies.
  • Assist the MCC Representative in the preparation of the budget and in the monitoring (monitoring) of projects in collaboration with the Accountant.
  • With the Accountant, reconcile the balance in the fund every week and month.
  • Giving’assistance in maintaining office records.
  • Assist volunteers to help them settle in the country, including working on logistics, housing and visas.
  • Ensure’honesty and’financial integrity.
  • Coordinate programme logistics in Burundi.
  • Work as a MCC focal point to receive complaints and prepare reports of sexual exploitation incidents according to MCC policy.
  • Work closely with partners in the preparation of financial reports according to the’accord protocols, in August, December and April, following the MCC model. Reports will be placed in the PlanWin program.
  • Working as an interpreter in MCC activities.
  • Offer’ assistance in building the capacity of partners in financial accounting, transparency and reporting.
  • Perform other’ tasks designated by the supervisor (Rep).
