Assistant To Protection Coordination (Data Gestor) At International Committee of the Red Cross


The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial organization, neutral and independent with the exclusively humanitarian mission to protect the life and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide assistance. It also strives to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening international humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY

The Deputy Protection Coordinator is in charge of data management, has the main responsibility to manage, at the national level, the information management processes of the Protection department through its information management tools. It will guarantee the continuity and coherence of the procedures, their adaptation to the operation in the field, as well as the management and reliability of the information entered in the database. It will respond by preparing accurate reports and statistics that can be addressed both within the ICRC (Delegation and Geneva) or externally.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Data management:

  • Guarantee the good quality and coherence of the data entered and the handling of information in the available tools, as well as the proper functioning of the workflow through periodic controls.
  • Responsible for the schedule of activities and annual reporting dates, to guarantee the clear and responsible reporting of figures for the protection team.

Support and technical support from the Protection Coordination:

  • Maintains direct communication with the coordinator, the deputies and those responsible for the other departments, proposing follow-ups and adopting necessary technical measures in favor of good protection data management and good management of individual, event or community cases.
  • Contributes to the analysis for the development of new work strategies and guidelines.

Coaching of the work team:

  • Responsible for coordinating the work team (data), delegating functions consistently while encouraging and promoting dynamic learning processes.
  • It is responsible for complying with all aspects related to the team’s human resources (unemployment, objectives of the unit)

Responsible for training in the Database for Colombia (Mobile and resident personnel)

  • You must ensure the training of new delegates and resident colleagues in the use of the tool, as well as informing new colleagues of the procedures and uses in relation to information management in the Protection department

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND DEMANDED COMPETENCES

  • Professional with university studies in information management, document management and archives, administrative areas, social sciences or systems management. Qualified professional experience can be accepted in lieu of university degree.
  • Extensive experience in managing databases and managing complex corporate information.
  • Minimum work experience of 8 rings, including 4 rings in positions of responsibility.
  • Minimum experience of 4 rings as head of a work team.
  • High level of knowledge of systems among which (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, others).
  • Knowledge of SQL is desirable.
  • Language level of knowledge. Spanish: oral and written fluidity. Advanced English: oral and written
  • Experience in individual or group training for adults.
  • ICRC knowledge and activities is desirable.
