Assistante – Fight against corruption (12 months)

Resource Matters is an organization that aims to alleviate the paradox of widespread poverty in resource-rich countries. The’organization works in particular in the extractive sector and the electrical sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The fight against corruption is one of the key areas on which Resource Matters is committed. In collaboration with other’ organizations, notably within the framework of the coalition Le Congo’ is not for sale, ’organisation conducts investigations and’ engages in advocacy in order to’ expose corrupt and misappropriating practices and hold accountable those directly involved. The position to be filled is that of’AssistantE Fight against corruption. It will’ over a period of 12 months.L’assistante will be based in the Democratic Republic of Congo and will benefit from a remuneration proportional to qualifications and experience. The position will start as soon as possible.
Tasks
In collaboration with the coordinator of the anti-corruption programme,’assistante will have the main function of supporting the implementation of projects at national level (DRC). He/she will ideally be based in Kinshasa. Specifically, the’assistante will have to: Under the supervision and in collaboration with the anti-corruption coordinator:
- To facilitate the implementation of the Resource Matters strategy on the fight against corruption.
- Conduct research on cases of corruption and misappropriation of public finances
- Produce reports, briefings, notes including the conclusions of these analyses in support of the advocacy of the’organisation.
- Support and participate in Resource Matters advocacy to increase transparency and accountability in the management of mining resources and derived revenues.
- Build the capacity of Resource Matters civil society partners engaged in the theme by building on RM approaches.
- Contribute to strategic thinking in order, on the one hand, to increase the’ impact of RM interventions, and on the other hand, to guide RM actions.
