Solidarity International is a humanitarian association that works with vulnerable populations, mainly victims of armed conflict and natural disasters. Specialized for more than 40 years in the coverage of vital needs, it supports emergency and reconstruction programs.
The project of Solidarity International (SI) in France helps people in precarious situations living in precarious’habitats sites (such as slums or squats) around Toulouse, Lille, Nantes, etc, Marseille and’en Ile-de-France and Mayotte. The difficulties of the target audiences are characterized by the barriers that’s encounter to access essential services (in particular the products of’ maintenance and’ hygiene as well as access to’au) and by conditions of’habitat highly degraded not allowing decent living conditions due to’a very degraded environment. SI meets the needs of the populations targeted by the’installation of’infrastructures of’access to drinking’,’sanitary infrastructures and the distribution of hygiene kits.
THE MISSION
The assistant participates in the accounting management, the property management of the Toulouse base and the’ supply of goods and services necessary for the proper functioning of ongoing projects ; Il/it provides support to the logistics and administrative manager of the southern zone and’ to the support coordinator.
OFFER DESCRIPTION
Objectives of the internship :
- Discover the functioning of’a mission within’une NGO and its constraints.
- Understand the different professions in the field.
- Discover the activities on the ground by traveling in metropolitan France on the different sites of’ intervention.
- Understand the relationships between the different humanitarian actors.
- Discover and put into practice the different’achat procedures.
- Putting into practice the’ use of the various logistical and financial monitoring tools.
List of main responsibilities :
- Become familiar with the market and the update of the’achat tools in compliance with the rules of the donors
- Assist le.la log-fin manager in the’study of French markets and the search for suppliers and donations.
- To ensure the program and logistic orders as well as the follow-up until the reception of the purchases
- To ensure the proper management of the stocks and equipment of the base of Toulouse
- Assist in the implementation of distributions, move around the field to participate in distributions
- Search for donations for the constitution of kits
- Ensure the packaging of the kits, the transport and storage of the kits upstream of the distributions
- Move around the field to participate in the distribution of kits
- Ensure the’archiving and centralization of logistics documents
- Participate in the compilation of logistics documents during final reports
- Archive the documents of’achat files on the LINK platform
- Ensure the updating of accounting logs and the’archiving of accounting records
- Facilitate the movement of equipment, members of its base and coordination
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
- Participate in the verification of the budgetary follow-up of the mission
- Do the cross check (verification) of the OFU (Operational follow up) and LFU (Logistics follow up) with past entries in accounting
- Assist in the preparation of financial audits
- Assist the support coordinator in assigning the different headquarters accounting entries
GENERAL
- Participate in weekly and monthly meetings of the office and the various services worked
- Search for providers for Program teams if needed
- Respond to the various emails
- Provide support to the’ all areas according to the requests
YOUR PROFILE
- From’a training in humanitarian logistics, accounting and/or financial management, project management, development, international relations, political science
- Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office-Excel package mainly
- Very good skills of’analysis and writing
- Good synthesis and prioritization capabilities
- Proactivity and critical thinking
- Organization & anticipation
- Relationship skills
- Ability to work under pressure and independently
- Interest for the context : the’access to the’eau on the French territory
- Commitment to the principles and work of Solidarity International
- Permit B is mandatory
IF YOU WILL OFFER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS
- Six (06) month internship based in Toulouse
- Gratification : 4,90 euros/hour
- The gratuity is calculated in proportion to the actual hours of attendance over the month. (Average 1 month = 154h, or 22 days of 7h/day)
- Public transport supported at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
- Tickets restaurant at 8,90 € /daily internship, with participation of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL at 60%
