Organizational framework

The main objective of FAO offices, led by an FAO Representative, is to help governments formulate policies, programs and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors, and use its environmental and natural resources in a sustainable way.

Hierarchical dependency

Under the general supervision of the project coordinator, direct supervision of the managers of Administration and Operations of the FAONI Representation.

Field of specialization

Provide support in the administrative-financial processes of the annual plan of activities and budget of the projects in execution on the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua, in accordance with the regulations and provisions established in the FAO operating regulations.

Tasks and responsibilities

  •  Support the coordination of projects in the formulation of the POA, quarterly plans, updates and in the operational monitoring of the actions of implementation of the budgets.
  •  Participate in the development of the Annual Procurement Plans and Annual Procurement Plans ( PAC ) FAO. Similarly, support the efforts of requests to purchase goods and services in accordance with the Purchase Plan and approved Operational Plan, ensuring that all requirements established by FAO are met.
  •  Consolidate the purchase plans of the shares demanded by the projects under their responsibility.
  •  Manage quotes and analysis of offers to make purchases of up to USD 2,500.00.
  •  Make requests for requests in the internal management system. Support in the preparation of delivery plans for supplies and equipment, as well as assisting deliveries to guarantee the required administrative supports of delivery minutes of materials, supplies, tools and equipment of the different modalities of benefits delivered by the projects.
  •  Carry out an inventory management control of goods, equipment, supplies, tools and others acquired by the project, as well as, on the deliveries of the different inputs established for the execution of the projects.
  •  Support the operation of the FAO Nicaragua planning and monitoring system in terms of information capture and recording.
  •  Transmit timely alerts to administration and / or finance officers about delays in project implementation based on the POA and propose solutions.
  •  Participate in the preparation of the field visits / missions plan.
  •  Ensure administrative-financial processes associated with:
  •  Identify community food and fuel providers in project intervention territories.
  •  Process the per diem to community participants in workshops.
  •  Review per diem requests and operating advances.
  •  Supports the logistics organization of events and trips to the municipalities.
  •  Ensure the requirements of virtual training of activities.
  •  Make a request for stationery, materials and other periodic replacement supplies.
  •  Treasury:
  •  Payment management to local suppliers in the project area and delivery of accounting supports.
  •  Delivery of accounting supports for payments to suppliers or operating advances.
  •  General services:
  •  Ensure monthly fuel supply through FAO procedures; conducting fuel yield reviews and the balances available at the supplying gas stations.
  •  Ensure the logistics of mobilizing project activities in the area.
  •  Supports the registration and control of the project’s fixed assets inventory.

THE CANDIDATES WILL BE EVALUED IN ARRANGE TO THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

Minimum requirements

  •  Professional with a degree in administration, economics, accounting and / or related careers.
  •  Minimum Five ( 5 ) years of demonstrated experience in management, monitoring and financial monitoring of development cooperation projects.
  •  Practical knowledge of Spanish ( Level C ) and limited knowledge of English ( Level B ) and knowledge of the languages and culture of the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua.
  •  Nicaraguan National.

  •  Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, obtain specific short-term results, and meet agreed dates.
  •  Competence in the use of computer tools such as word processors, spreadsheets and presentation programs.
  •  Organizational capacity to establish priorities, determine requirements in advance and proper file management.
  •  Leadership capacity and human talent management.
  •  Ability to relate and carry out adequate inter-institutional coordination.
