UNOPS ETMCO – South Sudan will be implementing the Productive Safety Net For Socioeconomic Opportunities Project (SNSOP) which is funded by the World Bank (WB) to address existing challenges of soaring levels of poverty, vulnerability, unemployment and idleness, particularly amongst the youth. The development objectives of the project are to provide cash transfers and access to income generating opportunities and strengthen the National Safety Net Delivery System SNSOP has four main components namely:

  •  Cash Transfers;
  •  Provision of Economic Opportunities;
  •  Strengthened Institutional Capacity and Social Protection System; and
  •  Project Management, M&E, and Knowledge Generation.

UNOPS – ETMCO South Sudan is recruiting for this position: Administration Clerk _ Community Mobilisation to be based in Aweil West, Pariang, Pochalla, Maban, Mundri West, Gogrial West, Torit, Pibor, Juba, Yei, Kapoeta West, Tonj South, Bor, Raja and Melut – South Sudan Qualified women and candidates from groups which are underrepresented in the UNOPS workforce are encouraged to apply.Functional Responsibilities

Under the overall supervision of the Project Management Support Senior Assistant (PMSSA), the Administration Clerk _ Community Mobilisation is required to the support selection of beneficiaries, monitor cash distribution and collect attendance registers and also ensure that the voices of community members, including women and elderly are heard.

  •  Supports the selection of beneficiaries, community mobilization to ensure participation, as well as that the voices of community members, including women and elderly are heard;
  •  The Community Mobilization Clerk supports the involvement of local grassroots leaders and community members in the implementation of the activities;
  •  Call distributions as well as monitor the cash distributions;
  •  Support trainings of communities in all aspects of the project;
  •  Deliver the “Plus” activities that is complementary activities;
  •  Monitor and collect all attendance registers.

Impact of Result

The community mobilizer will ensure that community mobilization and stakeholder engagement activities are implemented as stipulated in the Community Engagement and Capacity Building (CECB), and ensure that the communities are adequately informed about the project.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education

  •  Secondary School Certificate is required.

Work Experience

  •  Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in community mobilisation or related experience is required.
  •  Experience in organizing community procedures is required.
  •  Good experience of working in the relevant field location is highly desirable.

Language requirement

  •  Fluency in written, reading and oral English required;
  •  Knowledge of Local Arabic language is an asset.
