Solthis is a global health NGO, created 20 years ago, which works for prevention and access to quality care for all, by sustainably strengthening health systems and services. We work on the issues of women’s, mothers’ and children’s health, and on major pandemics, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis. Solthis is a development NGO, present in West Africa with 6 country offices and which, in partnership with local actors, deploys projects including operational research, capacity building, and advocacy components.

To complete the operational team based at headquarters, we are looking for a:
Technical Advisor Health Promotion
Contract duration : 12-month fixed-term contract (renewable)
Assignment base : Abidjan or Dakar or Paris, with travel (30 to 40%) in West and Central Africa
Availability : as soon as possible
CHALLENGES
Within the technical department, based at the headquarters in Paris, the Health Promotion Technical Officer will work in collaboration with the 3 technical officers and under the supervision of the Health Promotion Unit Manager.
The Health Promotion Technical Officer will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the interventions developed and implemented on projects in their areas of expertise, namely: health promotion, strengthening the power to act, and contributing to the capitalization and promotion of these interventions.

SPECIFIC MISSIONS
In order to carry out his/her mission, the Health Promotion Technical Officer will have the following responsibilities:
Supports project teams in the implementation of activities related to health promotion
- Training and support for Solthis teams in the integration of a health promotion and gender integration approach
- Design and deployment of educational tools and materials , training and support systems for stakeholders involved in projects, in particular community health workers and peer educators
- Support for the design and deployment of monitoring and evaluation tools promoting health
Participation in Project Development
- Writes, validates or coordinates the health promotion components in calls for projects or expressions of interest and calls for applications/consultancies
Participation in the production and promotion of knowledge (in connection with monitoring and evaluation)
- Organizes and monitors the research and capitalization components of projects in partnership with Solthis teams and national partners.
- Participates in the production and promotion of knowledge : writing articles, policy briefs, participating in events and conferences in their areas of expertise)
Develops the network of experts and technical partners
- Identifies partnerships , maintains and develops a network of actors/partners in his/her field of expertise
Participation in the Association’s strategic thinking and in defining strategic directions in relation to areas of expertise
- Contributes to ensuring scientific and technical monitoring as well as to the development of the association’s strategic and methodological orientations in areas related to health promotion
- Contributes to the association’s communication and advocacy actions in its field.
REQUIRED PROFILE
Initial training
Degree in a field relevant to the position: social sciences, health promotion, anthropology, etc.
Experience
- You are an expert in the fields of health promotion and gender and you have already carried out technical tasks as part of your duties: methodological support outside of project management
- Experience in training and support using active teaching methods, tutoring, group facilitation, etc.
- At least 5 years of experience in implementing and evaluating health promotion projects in resource-limited settings, experience in West Africa is required
- At least 2 years of experience in implementing gender-sensitive and transformative projects
Qualities & Skills
- You have mastered the health promotion approach and the participatory methodologies associated with this approach
- You know how to support associative and community actors from a methodological, organizational and structural point of view.
- You are recognized for your teaching skills and listening skills and know how to build quality relationships that enable effective partnerships and networking.
- You have the ability to adapt and are autonomous to act quickly with teams.
- You are equally comfortable in French and English (speaking, reading and writing) and your writing and synthesis skills are strong.
Others
You have mastered the office pack, remote meeting facilitation tools (Teams, zoom)
REMUNERATION
Salary and benefits will be determined based on contract status: National or International, and the number of years of experience in a similar position and SOLTHIS pay scales
