France – Founder’s Assistant (M/F) – Paris At Solidarities International

Location: SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL headquarters in Clichy and teleworking.

SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association that, for over 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their vital needs: drinking, eating, and shelter. Particularly committed to combating diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and the promotion of hygiene, but also in the essential field of food security and livelihoods. Present in 26 countries, SI teams – 3,200 people in total made up of expatriates, national employees, permanent staff at headquarters, a few volunteers, etc. – intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.

Job Description

Do you have a strong interest in international relations and would like to address these issues in a concrete manner, from the perspective of humanitarian action? You are autonomous, have writing and synthesis skills, and enjoy performing versatile tasks: writing summary notes, participating in events and conducting research on geopolitical themes related to humanitarian action, managing a website and its communication.

It is not necessary to have previous experience in the humanitarian field but to be motivated.

Your work will be based at the headquarters of SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL and in telework. You will assist the founder of the association in the context of his missions: advocacy to raise awareness of the humanitarian world among political decision-makers and the public (in particular through his site Défis Humanitaires); monitoring humanitarian crises, the fight for access to drinking water and sanitation, etc. You will support his action, through your relevant research and your participation in various meetings related to humanitarian action – Alain Boinet is an honorary member of the Board of Directors of Solidarités International and several other organizations (French Water Partnership (PFE), Think Tank (re)sources, Fondation Véolia, etc.) as well as the Humanitarian Consultation Group at the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs: Crisis and Support Center.

Management of the “Humanitarian Challenges” website and humanitarian communication.

Monthly publication of the online magazine (proofreading and publication of articles, conducting interviews, newsletter, site layout, photo search, translation, etc.). Daily
management of the “Défis Humanitaires” site: management of social networks, monitoring of fundraising, communication of articles, monitoring of statistics.
Publication of the second Study on French humanitarian NGOs abroad, promotion and dissemination. Management of the subscriber database.

Research

Research on the humanitarian ecosystem, its environment, its actors and partners.
Research to support Alain Boinet’s advocacy (access to drinking water, funding for humanitarian aid).
Conducting the quantitative and qualitative study by Défis Humanitaires on the evolution of a panel of international, French and foreign humanitarian NGOs (reading and understanding NGO annual reports).
Monitoring humanitarian crises (Armenia, Ukraine, Sahel, Syria, Afghanistan). Writing: summary notes, meeting reports, conferences, webinars.

Other activities

Help with the preparation of various events related to humanitarian action in which Alain Boinet participates and writing of reports: forum, conference, meeting.

The tasks described in this announcement are likely to change depending on international news and ongoing projects.

Your profile

Education: Bac+3/4/5 in International Relations, Geopolitics, Political Science.
Languages: Fluent in English. Another language is a plus.
Computer skills: Proficiency in Office Pack (Word, PPT, Excel in particular). Knowledge of WordPress is a plus.
Required qualities: autonomy, good organization, responsiveness, writing and synthesis skills, efficiency.

Internship based at the SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL headquarters in Clichy (92), Mairie de Clichy metro station

Intern with mandatory internship agreement.
Compensation: 4.90 euros/hour
Compensation is calculated in proportion to the actual hours of presence during the month. (On average 1 month = 154 hours, or 22 days of 7 hours/day)
Public transport covered at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
Meal vouchers at 8.90 € / actual day of internship, with participation of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL at 60%
