L’Albero della Vita ETS (FADV) is an NGO promoting human rights across the world, operating in child protection, education, migration, development, emergency, providing support to vulnerable children and communities.
Role and Responsibilities:
The Project Assistant Manager and MEAL Officer works closely with the Project Manager to support the implementation and management of the project and local partners. They collaborate with the team in data collection and analysis for the implementation of the monitoring plan.
The role is part of the project “TUTTI A SCUOLA – Inclusive, equitable, and protected access to safe, quality learning (both online and offline) and socialization environments for students and teachers.”
The specific objective of the project is to ensure inclusive, equitable, and protected access to safe, quality learning and socialization environments (both online and offline) with a gender-sensitive and conflict-sensitive approach for students, teachers, and members of the educational community in the regions of Odessa, Mykolaiv, and Dnipropetrovsk.
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the intervention area of Odessa.
Area / Department: International Area
Duty Station: Guest House based in Odessa with mission in Kyiv
What we offer: 8 months collaboration contract starting from October/November 2024
Project Management:
They are responsible for coordinating and monitoring project activities in the Odessa Oblast. Specifically:
- Ensure the effective and quality implementation of project activities, in compliance with donor and organizational procedures;
- Supervise the project schedule, ensuring timely and quality implementation;
- Promptly prepare activity reports, including those implemented by the local partner, and update project indicators;
- Ensure the monitoring of activities and achievement of results;
- Collect and analyze all relevant data and information to prepare reports and communicate results to stakeholders;
- Regularly provide updates on context analysis to the project team and country representative;
- Ensure that security assessments are regularly updated in the area of responsibility;
- Guarantee project visibility and communication.
Administrative, Financial, and Procurement Management:
For coordination activities in the Odessa Oblast:
- Ensure efficient financial management of the project, in compliance with the organization’s and donor AICS regulations;
- Support budget and program revisions when necessary;
- Verify and approve purchases in line with the budget and financial plan, in coordination with the Head of Mission;
- Verify the list of expenses and supporting documents in coordination with the administrative officer.
Professional Experience:
- At least three years of experience in emergency project management and coordination;
- Previous coordination/management of partnership projects, with a focus on education in emergencies and child protection, is a preferred requirement;
- Previous experience managing projects funded by AICS;
- Previous work experience in Ukraine and/or in projects funded by AICS is an asset.
Professional Requirements:
- Excellent planning, management, and coordination skills;
- Good knowledge of all phases of the project cycle management;
- Knowledge and experience in the sectors of child protection and education;
- Ability to manage human, technical, administrative, and financial resources;
- Networking and relationship-building skills with donors, international, and local partners.
Personal Requirements:
- Proactivity and ability to adapt to changing circumstances;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Languages:
- Italian native speaker;
- Excellent written and spoken English.
Required Education:
Master’s degree or equivalent.
A degree in political science, international cooperation, and international relations will be considered an asset.
Other degrees may also be considered positively if supported by postgraduate specializations.
