What we are looking for

NRC is looking for a Shelter, NFI, and CCCM Cluster National Co-Coordinator to join the Myanmar mission. The role holder will work closely with the Shelter, NFI, and CCCM (SNFI) Cluster Coordinator and coordinate the SNFI Cluster, ensuring effective emergency response through the mobilisation of groups of agencies, organizations, and NGOs to respond to humanitarian rises. The Co-Coordinator will be hosted by NRC, but will represent all NGO cluster members in coordination, helping to ensure the transparency of the cluster’s work.

What you will do

  • National SNFI Cluster meetings facilitation and co-chairing.
  • Shelter response coordination.
  • Information exchange (shelter issues, situation analysis, gaps, planning, funding processes, etc.) with SNFI Cluster partners and other stakeholders.
  • Represent SNFI Cluster and the interests of its partners to authorities, donors, inter-cluster, stakeholders, and other fora.
  • Support and guidance to SNFI Cluster partners on needs assessments, coordination, project development and implementation, and utilization of funding opportunities.
  • Capacity building to SNFI cluster partners and relevant counterparts such as other cluster partners, UN agencies, or authorities’ representatives.
  • Training and workshop facilitation.

What you will bring

  • Shelter, Non-Food Items experience in an emergency, conflict, and post conflict environment.
  • Humanitarian response and coordination mechanisms, planning, and country based pooled funding mechanisms knowledge.
  • Humanitarian architecture (cluster system) , humanitarian appeals, humanitarian response plans, and common humanitarian funds expertise.
  • Analysis, strategy, and planning background.
  • Advocacy and representation skills.
  • Emergency response and recovery links, and transition to development understanding.
  • Complex and volatile context exposure.
  • English fluency, both written and verbal.

What we offer

  • Yangon, Myanmar duty station, subject to receiving appropriate documentation. Currently, international visas and work permits are subject to considerable delays. The successful candidate will be expected to work from home/remotely for extended periods of time.
  • 12-month contract duration.
  • 20% travel, approximately.
  • Grade 8 in NRC’s Salary Scale, with accompanying terms and conditions. NRC offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
