Americares is seeking, under the supervision of the Program Director, the position of Community-Based Training Officer to develop, provide and present to the population/patients, health education methodologies and sessions, in accordance with the principles and values of Americares in Colombia, in order to promote health information, as well as provide information about Americares’ activities to facilitate overcoming barriers to access to health and institutional programs in the territory.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop community health education methodologies such as workshops and training of trainers to generate installed capacity in the intervention communities
- Develop material and provide health education sessions, messages and topics aimed at different populations, based on hygiene, disease prevention, gender-based violence and sexual reproductive health
- Ensure that all patients and caregivers are well informed about health issues and the services provided, according to Americares protocols in Colombia
- Monitor the health situation and living conditions of the population, collecting information
- Identify people who have health problems, contact the medical team and report immediately if necessary
Perform other duties as assigned by your immediate supervisor.
COMPETENCES AND SKILLS :
- Social science professional with specific experience in community work in health programs
- Professional in Psychology, education, social sciences with experience in community work in programs
- Professional with experience in community work
- Desirable: Postgraduate studies in gender, including social and/or community health
