About the Role:

Assistant Multimedia Producer and Trainer will work within FilmAid Kenya’s unique participatory methods that prioritize community involvement in messaging, planning, and executing media production projects. Through community-based screenings and workshops, FilmAid Kenya aims to build local communities’ knowledge, self-awareness, and efficacy, fostering positive behavior modifications, community leadership, collective participation, and responses to social issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Multimedia Producer in all aspects of multimedia content creation, including pre-production, production, and post-production tasks.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of multimedia project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to gather requirements and ensure the alignment of multimedia projects with organizational goals.
  • Coordinate and manage multimedia production schedules, ensuring timely delivery of all projects.
  • Create multimedia assets, such as storyboards, scripts, graphics, animations, and videos.
  • Design and create engaging graphics and animations for use in multimedia content.
  • Assist with the production of multimedia content, including filming, editing, sound design, and post-production tasks.
  • Ensure that all multimedia content meets quality standards and is consistent with brand guidelines.
  • Research and recommend new multimedia technologies, tools, and techniques to improve the production process and output.
  • Ensure that all multimedia content is properly archived and accessible to the appropriate teams and stakeholders.

Qualification – Essential Skills and Experience

  • Degree/Diploma in Mass Communication, Film and TV or a related course.
  • Must be a certified media trainer accredited by a recognized institution in Kenya.
  • Training Experience: Demonstrated experience in teaching or training others, both formally and informally, is highly advantageous. This may include leading workshops, seminars, or providing one-on-one mentoring.
  • Curriculum Development: Proficiency in developing training curricula that are customized to meet the specific needs of diverse groups, including youth, professionals, and community organizations, is essential.
  • Knowledge of Media Law: A strong understanding of media law and ethics in Kenya is essential, including familiarity with copyright, privacy laws, and the ethical standards governing journalism and media production.
  • Strong graphic design and animation skills, with the ability to design and create engaging graphics and animations for use in multimedia content.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards throughout the production process.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools quickly.
  • Industry Experience: Candidates should possess 2-3 years of experience in the media industry, such as journalism, video production, digital marketing, or a related field.
