Economic Recovery Assistant – Guasdualito (Apure) At Danish Refugee Council


The Dánes Refugee Council is one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, working in more than 40 countries to provide adequate assistance and protection to refugees, asylum seekers, internally displaced persons, returnees, people on the move and vulnerable local people / communities host. DRC is currently seeking an Economic Recovery Assistant based in Guasdualito – Apure, Venezuela.

About work:

DRC is managing its operations in Venezuela, under the direction of the country office in Caracas and three field offices located in the states of Sucre, Apure and Zulia. DRC Venezuela is implementing activities such as protection monitoring, legal assistance, individual protection assistance for PWSN, information sessions for PoC, prevention of human trafficking, rehabilitation of health infrastructure and food security.

Objective of the position: Support in activities related to the distribution of Food Kits, partner advancement activities on livelihood issues in trades and production, characterization of target population, logistical support for EcRec program activities. Activities to develop in the Páez and Rómulo Gallegos Municipalities of the Apure state.

Responsibilities:

Programs:

  • Guarantee the adequate distribution of aid in the communities assigned by the Leader Team / EcRec officer.
  • Take notes from the FGD and KI when the Team Leader / Economic Recovery Officer requests it.
  • Logistically support the preparation of activities in the communities in accordance with the SoPS of the program.
  • Obtain all the documents and supports of the delivery of aid, duly signed and validated.
  • Make the relevant digital and physical file to safeguard the documents.
  • Facilitate the conduct of community workshops or activities required by the program, in accordance with the identification of needs.
  • Support needs assessments according to the Team Leader’s request.
  • Ensure that the team has all the elements and supplies required to carry out activities in the field.
  • Make the permanent report of the status of equipment and materials to the base in Guasdualito.
  • Bring the activities and routes log when required by Team Leader / Economic Recovery Officer
  • Support verification of item status, including expiration dates and input inventory.
  • Participate in the joint verification of the goods and equipment purchased and verify the conformity of the articles with the technical specifications and the quantities.
  • Experience and Technical Competences:
  • Professional with 1 year of experience in the humanitarian sector. (Administration, Logistics and related services desirable but not limiting)
  • Experience in delivery and administration of humanitarian aid.
  • Management of inventories and experience in distribution of AHE supplies and materials.
  • Experience working in rural and hard-to-reach environments.
  • Service vocation.
  • Focus on detail.
  • Self-organizing capacity.
  • Knowledge and interest in the humanitarian sector.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel.
  • Basic handling of kobotoolbox.

Education

  • University degree in administration or social issues of preference. Careers for purposes in agronomy issues with training in social issues

Languages

  • Native Spanish
  • Basic English
