EuroPana
The EuroPana program in its fourth phase and the beginning of the fifth, contributes to access to protection conditions and fill critical gaps in humanitarian assistance through multi-sectoral support to vulnerable Venezuelan citizens and vulnerable host communities in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil and Venezuela, particularly for women, children, indigenous populations, people with disabilities and older adults. The Program is implemented through the Caritas Switzerland (CACH) and Caritas Germany (DCV) consortium, organizations that have worked together to respond to the migratory crisis in the region within the framework of comprehensive human development and the construction of sustainable peace.This consortium is developed with the Humanitarian Aid Office of the European Commission (ECHO) to address the migration situation that occurs in various countries in the region.
Position name: SMASH System Development Officer
Reports to: EuroPana Regional Coordinator
Type and validity of the contract:
Fixed term employment contract including a trial period corresponding to the first two (2) months. The duration of the position is nine (9) months. Monthly value of the employment contract to subscribe $ 4,356,000 plus legal benefits.
Probable date of entry: September 02, 2024
Place of provision of work: Bogotá (Colombia).
Functions and responsibilities:
- Design and develop web applications using Laravel as the main framework.
- Implement responsive and friendly user interfaces using Bootstrap.
- Manage and optimize MySQL databases to ensure efficient and safe performance.
- Collaborate with other developers, designers and project teams to ensure consistency and quality of the final product.
- Participate in code review and quality testing to ensure project standards are met.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices and emerging technologies in web development.
- Participate in training spaces for teams or end users of developments.
- Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation on system development and configuration, including regular reports on system progress and status.
- Ensure that the development and maintenance of the system comply with current security standards and regulations, guaranteeing the protection of personal data and privacy.
- Other responsibilities assigned based on his position by the director – VCR of CACH in Colombia.
General requirements and training:
Academic studies:
- Software development technologist, systems engineer, or related careers.
Professional experience:
- Laravel Experience: Minimum 2 years of practical experience in developing web applications using Laravel.
- Bootstrap Knowledge: Experience in designing and implementing responsive and modern user interfaces using Bootstrap.
- MySQL Database Management: Experience in creating, optimizing and managing MySQL databases.
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP skills: Advanced knowledge in HTML, CSS and JavaScript for the development of user interfaces.
- Version Control: Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Problem Solving: Ability to identify, diagnose and solve problems efficiently.
- Communication: Good communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new technologies and work methodologies.
- Development experience in Android with Java in Android Studio
Competences:
- Knowledge in JavaScript framework such as Vue.js or React.
- Experience in the use of automation tools and continuous deployment.
- Automated testing knowledge and TDD / BDD methodologies.
- Previous experience in agile projects or Scrum methodologies.
