As part of the implementation of’one of its future projects and subject to the approval of the’, Terre des hommes is looking for a (e) Water and Habitat Engineer.

Context :

Tdh has been present in Guinea since 1987. She is currently involved in the fields of Health including sexual and reproductive, Migration, and’Access to Justice. These three programs work in synergy and are enriched by transversal expertise such as Transversal Protection, WASH and’ICT4D. His approach has consistently focused on outreach work in conjunction with relevant Guinean authorities and communities.

Main responsibilities :

Under the direct supervision of the/the Chef(fe) of Project, L’Angenieur en Eau et Habitat (WATHAB) is responsible for the proper execution and monitoring of the rehabilitation works of’au buildings and infrastructures, d’ hygiene and’ sanitation (EHA or WASH) of the central house of Conakry, affected by the’explosion of the hydrocarbon deposit.

He/she has the mission of :

  • Lead feasibility studies and technical control of infrastructure rehabilitation work (buildings and WASH) in prisons by companies ;
  • Ensure the’ supervision and technical supervision of the’team under its direct responsibility ;
  • Maintain close collaboration/coordination with partners and beneficiaries ;
  • Representing Tdh in consultation frameworks.

Profile :

Training :

Diploma of’ engineer in BTP Civil engineering or equivalent

Experience / Skills :

  • 2 Years of’ professional experience in the field of BTP Civil Engineering
  • Experience working in’studies offices
  • Experience in the conduct of work/technical control
  • Knowledge and experience in the EHA field would be an asset
  • Ability of’adaptation in matrix operation and supervision of’team
  • Ability to work in hostile environments
  • Autonomy, acute sense of’organization, rigor
  • Spirit of’initiative, coordination and work team
  • Solutions oriented, endowed with’a common sense of’analysis and synthesis

Languages :

Excellent oral and written mastery of French ;

Good knowledge of Guinean national languages.

L’anglais would be an asset.

IT knowledge :

Good practice of the following tools: AutoCAD, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, Excel, ODK/Kobo tool box.

Salary :

Expatriate contract under Swiss law, gross monthly salary CHF 2450.- x13 (+ AVS retention for Swiss candidate). Insurance, illness, accident, repatriation. 25 days leave/year. Ticket’avion AR/year.
