Our mission in the DRC has existed since 2001. PUI is developing its integrated approach with projects in primary health and the fight against malnutrition. PUI intervenes in Ituri with projects in health nutrition, and in North Kivu through an integrated approach in health emergency nutrition complemented by activities in food security..

And the.the Health Project Manager in all this?

As a Health Project Manager, you will be responsible for the implementation and supervision of all project Health activities, including, and manage the human and financial resources of PUI dedicated to Health activities.

For this purpose, your responsibilities will be as follows :

  • Programmes : You will ensure the qualitative implementation and monitoring of the/health programs under your responsibility in compliance with the policy and framework of’ Health intervention of PUI and applying the fundamental principles of Transversal Protection.
  • Human Resources : You will supervise the’ health team (salaried PUI and possible daily workers).
  • Logistics and administration : You will ensure compliance with the logistical and administrative procedures of the/activities under your responsibility.
  • Representation : You will represent the’association with partners, authorities and local actors involved in the implementation of health programs.
  • Safety : You will contribute to the respect of the safety rules on the basis and transmit all information of’order security to your hierarchical manager.
  • Strategy : You will contribute to the development of new interventions based on identified needs.

The challenges ahead of you:

The challenges of the position of Health/Nutrition Manager are as follows: 1)Continue to strengthen the quality of health activities/nutrition deployed by PUI (and its BCZ providers and community relays) on the sites of displaced people, despite the enormous operational volume, which also requires technical support for teams in general, including, regular supervision, etc. 2)Team management (management + staff care) in a volatile security context 3)Manage a health/nutrition program « multibailleurs », this requires highly developed skills in’organisation and administrative and financial management 4) Issues of coordination and representation with all stakeholders :relations are now really good with the latter but this has been the result of many efforts’ and it is necessary to continue to maintain the fluidity of coordination and collaboration with state partners and NGOs.

What you will need to succeed

  • Formation You can justify a higher diploma in the field of health (doctor, nurse·, pharmacist, midwife, professional· of public health).
  • Experience You are strong of at least two years of’ experience as a professional· of health, of a previous field experience in NGO and international’. Have you worked with First International Emergency? It will be an undeniable asset!
  • Skills You master project management, have good writing skills and knowledge in institutional donor procedures (OFDA, ECHO, AAP, UN agencies..).
  • Qualities required You show a good relationship, have a taste for teamwork and skills in management. You are able to work independently by taking initiatives, have a sense of responsibility, diplomacy, a good capacity for’analysis and’organization. You show’a strong resistance to stress.
  • Languages French and’anglais have no secrets for you ? So much the better, it’is essential for this post ! If you also speak’arabe, it will also be an undeniable asset.

« PUI RDC celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2022, but remains a very dynamic mission, like the Congolese context. PUI recorded a significant increase in its operations in 2022 and 2023. While thousands of displaced people are still in the sites around Goma, PUI aims to maintain and strengthen its operations, including health and nutrition, around Goma and capitalize on his experiences that have earned him the reputation of a key emergency player in health/nutrition. In this context, the role of the Health/Nutrition Project Manager is fundamental to ensure the quality of health assistance/Nutrition in 7 advanced health posts and PUI-supported Health Centres. »

PUI will propose

  • Status: Employee(e) in a Term Contract
  • Gross monthly salary: 2 190,00 – 2 420,00 EUR according to your experience in international solidarity + 50€ per semester of seniority with PUI
  • Assurance including medical and complementary health coverage, 24/24 assistance, repatriation and pension
  • Hosting in collective house
  • Living expenses (“Per Diem”)
  • Break regime: 5 Working days to 3 and 9 months mission + break premium
  • Paid Leave Plan: 5 Weeks from CP/year + A/R air ticket at home every 6 months
