Trainer Logistics Flying in hospital management At Doctors Without Borders in Switzerland


Field-based position with visits to headquarters in Geneva

Context & Mission

Doctors Without Borders is an independent international medical and humanitarian organization that provides care to people in need, to persons affected by natural or man-made disasters and victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and without regard to race, religion, religion, religion, religion, or, beliefs or political affiliation (MFD Charter).

He/she is under the hierarchical responsibility of the Medical Learning Partner of the’unity Learning & development and under the functional responsibility of the referent in hospital management of the medical department. He/she works closely with the L&D on the pedagogical and deployment of training, the logistics department and more particularly with the/a logistician with whom he/she will lead these ForHOP workshops.

Main responsibilities

In collaboration with the referent and the trainer in hospital management, the logistics trainer in hospital management :

  • Participate in the’ identification of training needs
  • Adapt the themes related to the logistics of the existing ForHOP workshop to the specific needs of each hospital project before delivering it on the identified grounds.
  • Organizes workshops for identified areas
  • Participates in defining the training implementation strategy
  • Animate the workshops on the identified grounds
  • Analyzes its activity in order to propose some avenues of’improvement.

Profile sought

Education

  • Diplomatic training in humanitarian logistics or other technical field related to one of the technical families of humanitarian logistics
  • Diploma in hospital structure management, a plus
  • Training of desired trainer

Experience

  • 12 Months of’ experience in a position of logistics manager of hospital structures
  • Experience in waste management, hygiene, WASH and Biomedical material management highly appreciated
  • Experience in highly valued adult education

Technical Skills

  • Educational skills : facilitation and evaluation of’training workshops
  • Knowledge in adult education and principles of’apprentissages
  • Knowledge of MS Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Working conditions

  • Field-based position with visits to headquarters in Geneva.
  • The practical working conditions in the field are in accordance with the volunteer manual of the OCG MSF.
  • Duration of 4 months, gross monthly salary : CHF 5’500.- for a 100% position (proportional to the occupancy rate)
  • Ideal start date : Early September 2024
  • Employee benefits : Health insurance and living expenses in the countries of intervention and at headquarters, paid according to the internal regulations.
