WORK OBJECTIVE

The Transversal Protection Officer will be in charge of ensuring the satisfactory execution of the project Multisectoral and integrated response in water, sanitation and hygiene, livelihoods and protection of women from indigenous communities in the state of Amazonas, Venezuela financed by the French Government (CDCS), in Puerto Ayacucho.

The project has as intervention sectors: Livelihoods, Protection and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (ASH). The selected person will provide strategic and operational leadership to successfully develop and implement the project from a cross-cutting protection perspective. It will guarantee compliance with the general technical and programmatic quality in the implementation, compliance with regulations, donor regulations and the timely presentation of all deliverables. Depending on the needs, the manager may also participate in the design of future projects. The manager will respond to the Base Manager, the Area Coordinator and will work closely with the project manager.

FUNCTIONS
 Lead the design, planning of strategies, protocols, methodologies and implementation of the Protection program response, including conducting needs assessment, creation and execution of survivor-focused case plans, monitoring of case plans, and whenever necessary, ensuring safe referrals.
 Maintain case management files with respect to confidentiality, including regular updating of the case management database.
 Provide specific technical support and capacity development to project staff and
guarantee continuous training and tutoring at work in the protection area.
 Participate in the adequacy and contextualization of technical materials (protocols, operating guidelines, training materials) on protection, with a focus on VBG.
 Provide support and technical assistance, when required, in psychosocial support activities and case management carried out in the field by members.
 Systematize the route of internal and external attention, to strengthen the referral system.
 Carry out regular field visits and support the case management team in its activities.
 Organize and ensure the correct design and implementation of awareness sessions and information campaigns for the beneficiary population.
 Synthesize and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to support the generation of information for the correct planning of the strategy.
 Participate in the development of Protection against Violence projects in accordance with the action plan.
 Establish ties of respect and closeness with communities, institutions, contractors and humanitarian actors during the implementation of Protection against Violence projects, as well as raising awareness / disseminating transparency processes/complaint mechanisms established by acted
 Create and maintain an environment that prevents sexual exploitation and abuse and promotes
application of the zero tolerance policy and the ACTED code of conduct.

REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory:
 Bachelor of Social Sciences (Sociology, Social Work), Psychology, Anthropology Studies
International, Health Sciences, Humanitarian Protection, related careers.
 At least three (3) years of experience in protection case management (preferably from
general protection, is accepted from VBG or child protection). Preferably in an NGO
international.
 Experience in dealing with national partners and local / government authorities
 Experience in proven organizational skills.
 Experience working in multicultural work environments
 Microsoft Office Package Domain
 Soft skills: dynamism, leadership, Team management, autonomy, high attention to detail, responsibility, assertive communication, results orientation, transparency, flexibility.

Desirable (not mandatory):
 Experience in education and training.
 Knowledge of the Amazon State and the Indigenic People’s Law.

CONDITIONS
 Contract for the provision of services for 6 months with the possibility of renewal according to
budget availability and performance.
 Workplace: Face-to-face at the ACTED office in Puerto Ayacucho.
 Professional Fees according to the Scale of the organization.
