Description of tasks

The Colombia PBI Project receives financing from about 16 European and North American entities; the collection goal for 2024 – 2025 is around 800,000 Euros. The central objective of the position is to secure income for the financial stability of the Project.

Responsibilities of the Coordinating Person of Monitoring and Fundraising:

  • Design and implement the annual fundraising strategy for Project Colombia.
  • Plan, develop and execute the strategy for resource management, including the search for new sources of financing.
  • Draft a general funding proposal and accountability reports in coordination with other parts of the organization
  • Formulation of specific projects and budgets in coordination with the other parts of the organization, in Spanish and English.
  • Coordinate with the National PBI Groups the presentation of requests and reports to the
    financing agencies.
  • Represent PBI Colombia against funders; participate in meetings and follow up.
  • Participate in the International Working Group on GDP Fundraising to agree on global strategies and exchange good practices.
  • Stay informed about the situation in Colombia and the activities of the Project.
  • Systematization of data for monitoring the activities and impact of PBI Colombia for accountability (Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation)
  • Participate in the monthly meetings of the Administration and Finance Committee, which plans and follows up on budget execution.
  • Coordinate with the financial team the institutional audits of the donors and in the financial control of the organization.
  • Represent the Monitoring and Finance area in the Assembly of the PBI Colombia Project and in strategic decision-making, providing the necessary financial information.
  • Promptly visit the field teams, as needed, and train on financial issues within the organization.
  • Collaborate in the internal debates and consensus processes of PBI Colombia, including those that address overcoming racism and other oppressions.

Profile and essential requirements

  • Demonstrated 2-year experience in fundraising and project management (formulation, monitoring and justification) from cooperation agencies, foundations and others.
  • Relevant university studies (international cooperation, international relations, communications, social sciences or related fields) or relevant experience in similar positions.
  • Essential professional command of Spanish and English in read, written and spoken format (mother tongue or higher studies).
  • Professional mastery of relevant programs (the entire Office package; knowledge of other programs will be valued).
  • High ability to work as a team and in horizontal structures that require a lot of respect, tolerance and empathy: the services it provides will be exercised under the organizational principle of the “ non-hierarchy ”.
  • Planning capacity of the tasks of your area with great autonomy.
  • Flexibility in times dedicated to service and the ability to provide service under pressure, in situations of constant emergency and unforeseen to meet the established deadlines.

Desirable qualities and knowledge

  • Global vision of the mission of NGOs and international agencies.
  • Knowledge and commitment to the PBI mission.
  • Accounting knowledge.
  • Knowledge of the human rights situation in Colombia.
  • Ability to perform your tasks in a multicultural environment.

Position conditions

This position will be located in Bogotá. The contract will be 2 years, expandable, with a trial period of 3 months, a 42-hour week, and 25 days of vacation, plus Colombia’s national holidays.

  • Salary: 4,650,000 net POPs per month (13 annual payments).
  • Family policy of 450,000 POPs per child per month.
  • Contribution to the Colombian health, social security and pension system.
  • Prepaid medicine insurance.
  • Flight in and out, if you are outside of Colombia.
  • Support of 390 euros for an annual rest flight to the country of origin.
  • Support in installation costs if you are outside of Colombia.
