Support to the service management of pool and course – 24 months (h/f) At Doctors Without Borders


Doctors Without Borders, an international humanitarian medical association created in 1971, provides medical assistance to populations whose lives are threatened : mainly in the event of armed conflicts, but also epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters or exclusion from care. The French section is present in about thirty countries.

Within the framework of’a contract of’alternance (professionalization or learning) over a period of 24 Months, we are looking for, in support of the whole service Management Pool & Course, an Alternate :

Support to the service management of pool and course – 24 months (h/f)

The Operations Department of the Paris Operational Centre (OCP) consists of 9 Operational Cells including one’Urgences Cell, each managing a portfolio of countries. The Pool and Course Management Service supports these Cells by offering Human Resources adapted to the terrain according to needs and availability, skills and will of pool members (groups of’expatriates recruited and gathered by sector).

The Pool & Course Management Service consists of 14 people. The objectives of the service are as follows :

  • Deploy the means and propose the HR actions necessary to develop the sectors, to bring out and evolve executives, in connection with the evolution of operational needs (quantity and quality of profiles).
  • Build and consolidate the career path of the members of the sectors in order to meet the human resources needs of OCP missions.

Your mission

As a service support, under the direct supervision of the GP Business Focal Point and the Service Manager, and in close collaboration with the other members of the’ team, you will participate in the proper functioning of the service at the level of :

Human Resources and Interservices Management :

  • Create new profiles in the HR database (Ligo)
  • Give support on Ligo and update the summary sheets
  • Keep pools updated : contact the « sleeping » pools to update their availability and CV, restart expats by email for specific missions, etc, keep the link with recruits waiting for missions
  • Participate in matchings with the GP : selection of the candidate, proposal, placement, briefing, debriefing (observer).
  • GP Backup (if needed)
  • Synthesize annually the « country sheets mission »
  • Take notes to the various committees (Vocationers, Course, Executives)
  • Participation and taking note of the weekly meetings of the service
  • Briefings of newly recruited trainees
  • Compilation of PAPs (Posts to be filled) before sending to the department’s assistant
  • Other tasks may be delegated to him

Communication and statistics (under the supervision of the Business Focal Point) :

  • Continue the annual Newsletter (quantitative), and set up a quarterly Newsletter (qualitative) to facilitate internal communication and give visibility to the service and its activities
  • Provide support for annual pool presentations
  • Statistical follow-up
  • Maintain the SharePoint page of the service with

Background file :

  • Develop a presentation on a transversal subject related to the’activity of the service (to be defined according to the profile and the’ interest of the alternate) and related to its subject of’study

Training : You are currently pursuing a BAC + 3/5 level course in Human Resources Management or International Solidarity Project Management, including, and you have a strong interest in the humanitarian sector and/or Human Resources.

Skills : You have very good writing skills in French and English, master the’informatique (Pack Office) and the’environment O365 (Teams, SharePoint, Power-Bi..).and have good communication skills.

Qualities required : You have a proven interest in the International Solidarity sector. You show’ autonomy, curiosity, creativity and are force of proposal. You show good relational abilities and’adaptation, rigor, a good management of the priorities. You have a sense of discretion and respect confidentiality.

Specificities of the position :

Status : CDD – Contract of professionalization or’apprenticeship over 24 months – Based in Paris

Conditions : Remuneration of 53% to 100% of the SMIC according to the’age and the level of’studies. Complementary health care 100% supported by MSF. Titles restaurants d’a face value of 11€ (60% support by Doctors Without Borders). Support for 50% of the’public transport subscription.
