WHAT WE DO …

INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY(SI) is an association of’international humanitarian aid which, for more than 40 years, has been providing relief to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by responding to vital needs, drinking, eating, eating, eating, S’abriter. Particularly engaged in the fight against diseases related to unhealthy’, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions an expertise in the field of’access to drinking’water,’sanitation and the promotion of hygiene but also in that, essential, food security and means of’. Present in about twenty countries, SI – 2000 teams in total composed of’expatriates, national staffs, permanent staff at headquarters, some volunteers…intervene with professionalism and commitment in respect of cultures.

Since March 2020, SI intervenes in France for the improvement of the living conditions of very precarious publics « non-connected » to primary services such as’ potable water,’ sanitation but also’electricity, etc, making them particularly vulnerable. Our projects target audiences living in degraded’habitat sites such as slums, campsites or squats and with very limited and often informal access to these basic services.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The’assistant Programme of the Southern Zone carries out its functions under the authority of the Coordinator of its’allocation zone and the referent programmes (EHA, Community mobilization, Menstrual precariousness) of the Operations of the SOUTHERN zone. He/she works in collaboration with the logistics, EHA and Community Mobilization teams.

Purpose / purpose :

L’assistant.e participates in the programmatic monitoring (monitoring and reporting) in support of the coordinators of zones. He/she participates in the design work, technical capitalization and field interventions with the program managers.

List of main responsibilities :

Relevance, quality and design of projects

  • Participate in the missions of’assessment and technical diagnostics EHA and’writing of reports under the supervision of the zone coordinator on the Marseille, Toulouse and Montpellier areas and in connection with the program managers.
  • Assist the area coordinators and programme managers in the technical design of the activities
  • Follow and monitor technical support « hotline » to associations and institutions with EHA coordinator.

Monitoring and operational monitoring

  • Under the supervision of the programme manager of the zone and the zone coordinator, update the various monitoring and programmatic management tools (in particular monitoring of installations, etc, monitoring of project indicators, updating of the DIHAL platform)
  • Assist where appropriate the program managers in the operational implementations (installations, maintenance, distributions, …)
  • Assist in the relationship with the technical and voluntary service providers assigned to the activities (presentation of activities, technical solutions)
  • Assist program managers in the activities of distribution of hygiene kits and promotion to the’ hygiene

Capitalization

  • Participate in the centralization and dissemination of procedures, guides and tools related to EHA activities in France
  • Participate in the capitalization on the methods and techniques of’ intervention and on the experiences acquired by Solidarities International and the other actors for the EHA activities (Technical solutions of’ sanitation, gray water management ..)
  • Participate in the drafting of projects and donor reports under the supervision of the area coordinator
  • Participation in’archiving of administrative and programmatic documents
  • Participate in the creation of tools (technical, MEAL, ..) and their improvements

Logistical and financial means

  • Participate in the proper maintenance of storage-related documentation (Ex : Stock tracking, inventory, …) ;
  • Participate in the logistics/finance cycle related to the management of EHA activities (BCI, OFU, …)

Human Resources

  • Occasionally, when missions require it, participate in the search for volunteers (identification and selection): briefing and support ; administrative management of volunteers (restaurant stickers, restaurant, signature charter and volunteer document) ; Volunteer HR planning and coordination during interventions in support of the person in charge of the’ intervention.
  • Participate at the end of the contract in the recruitment of the replacement trainee (review of the job description, publication, CV pre-selection using a’ analysis grid, participation in interviews and handover)

YOUR PROFILE

  • Development studies, water and sanitation, project management ; environmental health, political science.
  • Knowledge of Water, Hygiene and Sanitation and/or knowledge of the humanitarian field is an asset
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office package and GIS software (Earth, QGIS) ;
  • Very good skills of’analysis and writing
  • Good capacity for synthesis
  • Proactivity and critical thinking
  • Organization & anticipation
  • Relationship skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Commitment to the principles and work of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL.
  • Permit B

IF YOU WILL OFFER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS

  • Position based at the level of the International Solidarity offices of its’assocation base (Marseille) with travel on the ground
  • Intern with compulsory internship agreement.
  • Gratification : 4,90 euros/hour
  • The gratuity is calculated in proportion to the actual hours of attendance over the month. (Average 1 month = 154h, or 22 days of 7h/day)
  • Public transport supported at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
  • Tickets restaurant at 8,90 € /daily internship, with participation of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL at 60%
