Global Rights is an international human rights capacity-building non-governmental organization (NGO). Global Rights was founded in Washington DC, USA in 1978 with the name International Human Rights Law Group and changed its name to Global Rights: Partners for Justice in 2003 at its 25th anniversary. Global Rights works with local activists in Africa, Asia, and Latin America to promote and protect the rights of marginalized populations. We provide technical assistance and training to enable local partners document and expose human rights abuses, conduct community outreach and mobilization, advocate for legal and policy reform, and provide legal and paralegal services.
The Program Support Volunteer will support the organization’s efforts in achieving better inclusion for women in peacebuilding efforts and the civic space, and build community resilience against insecurity and violent extremism in the Northwest.
Specifically, the Program Support Volunteer will be responsible for collecting, managing and analyzing early warning data. The volunteer will be responsible for ensuring that data is collected accurately and efficiently, managing data files and databases, and maintaining accurate records of all data collection activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Field Program Officer to develop and implement early warning systems that can help mitigate potential conflict.
- The volunteer will work closely with the Field Program Officer to ensure timely and accurate data collection and analysis.
- Analyze data collected in order to identify trends or patterns that could indicate potential conflict.
- Ensure that data is collected in a timely and accurate manner.
- Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies in collected data.
- Ensure that all data collection activities are in compliance with GR policies and procedures, as well as legal and ethical standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all data collected.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Understanding of early warning systems is an asset
- Ability to speak local languages is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
