Warehouse – AVSI Falcón At Association of Volunteers for International Service


1.Context

AVSI Venezuela is a Venezuelan non-profit organization, created in 2022, to contribute to the improvement of the living conditions of people who live in vulnerable situations. We are a local organization linked to the international context, through a partnership with the AVSI Foundation, a non-governmental, non-profit organization that supports 329 development cooperation projects in 39 countries, with headquarters in Italy, which operates in Venezuela from 2000 and which promoted the creation of AVSI Venezuela.

The WFP Food Assistance and Livelihoods Program in Venezuela seeks to reduce the negative coping strategies of vulnerable groups and households, improve their food security through food delivery assistance and training in income-generating skills. Through the Storekeeper, the procurement of goods and services related to logistics operations will be guaranteed.

2.Object

With this announcement, AVSI Venezuela selects a Storekeeper responsible for guaranteeing adequate storage of purchased goods, inventory control and food distribution in accordance with the corporate guidelines, policies and regulations of WFP and AVSI Venezuela Foundation.

3.Description of functions

  • Receipt/dispatch of products, including transshipment, taking into account the approved official documentation (e.g., consignment notes and/or delivery notes) and ensuring the accuracy of the physical count of the products and the quality of the products. themselves, in accordance with established standards.
  • Store food properly, following recommended storage guidelines.
  • Prepare weekly and/or monthly warehouse control and movement reports.
  • Maintain detailed records of incoming and outgoing transactions of products, materials and supplies, including appropriate documentation for audits and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate in the preparation of inventory monitoring and control reports.
  • Conditioning of premises for warehouse, taking care of the perfectibility conditions of some materials.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure that food is stored and handled in accordance with food safety regulations.
  • Keep the warehouse clean and safe, ensuring hygienic and safety conditions.
  • Ensure food handling and storage guidelines are followed in accordance with local and national health regulations.
  • Collaborate in the identification and management of possible risks related to food safety.
  • Supports food distribution according to project requests and requirements.
  • Planning and executing periodic inventories to ensure the accuracy of stock records.
  • Participate in the training of personnel related to food handling and storage.
  • Collaborate with the Logistics in various tasks related to the efficient management of the warehouse.
  • Use all required safety equipment to perform daily tasks with due care.
  • Create and manage the national supplier database.
  • Coordinate with the State Coordinator, the Administrator and the Logistician the making of quotes, purchases or contracts, receipt of goods, receipt of invoices and preparation of contracts as appropriate to guarantee the traceability and documentation of the process according to WFP grant justification standards.
  • Support the procurement processes in coordination with the State Coordinator, the Administrator and Logistics to guarantee maximum efficiency.
  • Provide support in the administrative procedures of the project office.
  • Responsible for inventory management.

4.Key requirements and qualifications

  • Administration Training; Accounting; Economics or related areas.
  • Mandatory required experience: Minimum 1 year in functions related to logistics (purchases, warehouses, transportation and vehicle fleet management and personnel mobilization preferably), preferably in humanitarian aid and international cooperation projects.
  • Basic knowledge of project cycle management.
  • Experience and knowledge of project budget management.

5.Knowledge, skills and abilities:

6.Work coordination

The Storekeeper will respond directly to the Logistics and/or the State Coordinator, based on the guidelines issued by the LATEAM Regional office, the Headquarters in Italy of the AVSI Foundation and the World Food Program (WFP). .

7.Type of contract

  • Fixed-term contract.
  • Start date: June 1, 2024.
  • Completion date: November 30, 2024.

8.Workplace

The work will be carried out in the AVSI Venezuela office in Falcón, so residing in Coro or surrounding cities is highly desirable; Otherwise, availability to relocate to Falcón. Availability for eventual trips to other municipalities and/or states where the project is being executed at the national level. Knowledge of the territory will be valued.
