Based in Amman, Jordan, with business travel on a need basis (overseas travel should be expected for 25% of time, across the Asia region, including to potential post-conflict territories)

MAGENTA’s Asia team operates across Asia on a range of projects that include research, strategy development, SBC intervention implementation, and evaluation. We currently operate in countries in Central and South Asia. We are looking for exceptional individuals to join this team, driven by a keen desire to deliver social impact and who thrive in fast-paced environment.

Primary responsibilities of the Asia Programme Officer (PO) are the following (1) day to day programme management, (2) data analysis and content development (3) organisational knowledge management and (4) business development. The PO will work under the guidance of the Regional Programme Director and Programme Managers and will travel to project sites for meetings and workshop delivery whenever needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Programme Officer will report to the Programme Manager. Typical tasks include:

Programme Management and Implementation

  • Conducting regular desk reviews and situation analyses
  • Providing inputs to project plans, Gantt charts and resource plans
  • Contributing to technical reports, project presentations, and programme updates
  • Coordinating project partners e.g. consultants, vendors, media, civil society
  • Monitoring project KPIs and updating monitoring and evaluation tracking tools
  • Organising project logistics, including travel and calendar scheduling
  • Co-facilitating workshops and training in country as per project needs
  • Data Analysis and Content Development
  • Coding qualitative data transcripts
  • Supporting analysis of primary and secondary data (qualitative and quantitative) to produce high quality research reports using the relevant tools
  • Developing reporting tools and liaising with implementing partners on data submitted
  • Producing content for diverse SBC toolkits and capacity building packages as per project needs

Knowledge Management

  • Filing of project documentation
  • Updating Magenta databases – past performance records, contact lists, partner testimonials
  • Writing up detailed meeting notes
  • Developing/editing project case studies

Business Development

  • Contributing to project design, including theories of change, activity design, M&E frameworks, resource plans, financial plans
  • Participating in proposal preparation and submission

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field

Experience:

  • 2-3 years professional experience.
  • Familiarity with project management.
  • Prior experience in delivering or supporting the delivery of training or other types of events
  • Preliminary knowledge of the international development and/or humanitarian system, including donor landscape
  • Ability to work effectively, respectfully, and successfully with governments, clients, partners and other stakeholders in complex settings.
  • Understanding and experience in social behavioural change, communications and/or research is a plus
  • Technological and software fluency
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • MAGENTA has a flexible working policy which promotes periods of remote working during the year
  • Frequent travel is required, around 25% of time.
  • May involve working in areas that are remote and lack basic modern infrastructure
