Act Burkina Faso

The northern regions of Burkina Faso currently have a fragile political and security context, marked in particular by a complex multidimensional crisis. There are just over one million displaced people in the country at the beginning of 2021.

The’Acted mission in Burkina Faso began in 2019 to provide support to populations affected by the security and humanitarian crisis, including, provide expertise in rapid response and’ emergencies, while strengthening response capacities and coordination among humanitarian and development actors.

’Acted Burkina Faso interventions are multisectoral, flexible and inclusive, with the AIM OF responding to the urgent needs of populations. From its first interventions, Acted Burkina Faso focuses on the most necessary humanitarian assistance’: response to food security, water, hygiene and sanitation (EHA) needs, etc, in shelters and essential household items and finally in coordination and integration of the protection. In parallel, and following the evolution of the humanitarian crisis, Acted supports the government on the management of temporary’Hospital sites and informal sites. The REACH initiative enables the’ as a whole of the humanitarian community to strengthen the’analysis of humanitarian needs, in particular through a project to monitor the humanitarian situation in 4 regions,the establishment of’a multi-sectoral country assessment to support the HNO/HRP 2021 process and territorial assessments.

In the North Region, Acted provided assistance in food security and livelihoods,’eau,’ hygiene and sanitation,’abris and essential household items. Acted supports the government in the management of the displacement sites of Ouahigouya and Seguenega. The’organisation is planning very soon to support the logistics cluster in the management of’a humanitarian warehouse and the sharing of’information to partners.

Main role and responsibilities

The/the person in charge of’investigations, monitoring, control and’evaluation (MEAL) is responsible for the development and implementation of an appropriate and viable’investigations system, follow-up and’assessment in line with the global MEAL procedures of’Acted and he/she helps to ensure that’Acted projects and programmes are carried out as planned.

4. Contribute to the Recipient Complaints Management Mechanism (PM)

Qualifications and skills required

  • Higher Diploma in Political Science, International Relations, International Development, Economics or equivalent (anthropology, sociology, statistics) ;
  • At least 1 to 2 years of’experience in monitoring and evaluation of projects in the’humanitaire and/or development ;
  • Experience in participatory evaluations and project cycle management ;
  • Excellent level of communication to the’ written as to the’oral in french and in english ;
  • Good capacities for’organization and communication with international and national staff and rural communities ;
  • Flexibility, capacity of’adaptation, capacity of’organization, taking of’initiative ;
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure ;
  • Knowledge of the’ intervention region would be an asset ;
  • Knowledge of the Office Pack.

Conditions

  • Salary defined by the Acted salary grid according to the level of’studies,’expertise, the level of safety and the level of experience : between 1800 and 2000 € monthly net (before income taxes)
  • Monthly living expenses allowance 300$
  • Guesthouse accommodation and food supported by Acted
  • Social security, mutual insurance (MSH) and repatriation assistance (SOS International) supported by Acted
  • Transport to the mission and return ticket fully supported every 6 months (to the’address specified on the employment contract)
  • Visa fees supported by Acted
  • R&R every 3 months (aircraft ticket’ supported up to’ 500$ + additional allowance of 200$)
  • One week of preparation for departure including 4 days of immersion safety training
  • Possibility of’having a call of 30 minutes with a consultant in taxation
  • Psychological support (meet with a professional.le)
