SUMMARY OF L’OFFRE

The International Bureau of the Rights of Children (IBCR), a Canadian NGO dedicated to the protection and promotion of the rights of the child, within the framework of its voluntary cooperation programme PCV (Project for the integral strengthening of the rights of the’enfant) a[e] counsellor[era] in psychosocial and legal support to support his partner, UDIMUF.

Through this mandate, however, share your skills and expertise to advise, strengthen, and train the’UDIMUF team in psychosocial and legal support to children to support it in the implementation of its mission. Mandate includes the development of guidelines, the design of’related tools, the’animation of trainings and technical support to the various activities of the’organization, among other tasks.

ABOUT THE PARTNER

UDIMUF is a non-governmental organization whose mission is to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of women and children, especially adolescent girls and girls through recognition of their, the development and strengthening of their capacities, by offering them spaces for political participation, citizenship, promotion, etc, dissemination and advocacy to ensure the right to a life free of gender-based violence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The volunteer will be responsible for :

  • Contribute and support UDIMUF in :
  • Strengthening individual and organizational capacities for psychosocial support
  • The development of guidelines and tools for the psychological monitoring of children and adolescents hosted and/or accompanied by the partner organisation
  • The development of the guidance system towards partners and/or specialised structures
  • The development of awareness-raising sessions for children on the rights of children in conflict with the law and/or children who are victims of violence, abuse or exploitation
  • Review and improve the training modules offered by the partner organization with personal development tools for children
  • To develop and conduct training workshops on mental health and the psychology of human development
  • Train the legal and social team on the particular approach of children and adolescents[e]s
  • Accompany the partner organisation in the implementation and evaluation of acquired skills
  • Actively participate in the initiatives, events or activities planned by the partner organisation under the LCP
  • Support the strengthening of the partner organization in all other activities related to its expertise
  • Accompany the partner organisation in the implementation and evaluation of the acquired skills ;
  • Actively participate in the planned initiatives and activities in collaboration with the partner organisation under the programme ;
  • Support the strengthening of the partner organization in all other activities related to its expertise.

Other missions related to the PCV project :

  • Support the activities of the Social Laboratory of the PCV
  • Draft progress reports on activities carried out during the mandate
  • Participate in the influence of international volunteering in Canada by participating in the communication efforts of the’IBCR (writing articles or blog posts on the’ volunteering experience, videos, interviews, events..).

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES

REQUIREMENTS :

Technical skills :

  • Mastery of the’spanish, both in the written’ and’ to the’oral and french or english current
  • Bachelor and/or master’s degree in psychoeducation, social work, psychology or related field
  • At least 2 to 3 years of’experience in functions related to psychoeducation, social work, psychology or any other relevant experience related to the mandate
  • Experience in’ elaboration and’use of’psychosocial and legal tools
  • Experience in’organization and’animation of’workshops and formations
  • Strong analytical and editorial skills
  • Mastery of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and tools of the Outlook environment (Teams, mail, SharePoint, Forms, etc.) and Google (Google Docs, Google Drive, Gmail, etc.), etc.)

Human skills :

  • Great ability to’adaptation and ability to be flexible in the face of change
  • Excellent interpersonal and participatory skills
  • Ability to work in teams and independently
  • Ability to plan your work, set priorities, perform multiple tasks head on and be proactive
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and’equality of genders
  • Promotion of’a culture of’learning and knowledge sharing within the’team of the’partner organization and with other volunteers

About the PCV program

The Project to fully strengthen children’s rights ( PCV ), implemented by the International Bureau for Children’s Rights ( IBCR ), aims to improve the well-being and protection of children, especially girls, as well as the promotion of their rights worldwide, in a sustainable manner.

Lasting seven years ( 2020-2027 ), this project is part of Canada’s Voluntary Cooperation Program and will allow more than 250 professional and professional volunteers to be deployed to 11 countries.

By sharing the skills of these volunteers and qualified mentors with a network of committed partners, the PCV contributes to strengthening child protection in the countries in which it is present.
