DESCRIPTION OF THE ASSOCIATION

The Chain of Hope is an international NGO founded in 1994. Its purpose is to strengthen health systems to give everyone and in particular children the same opportunities for survival and development.

We intervene in 28 countries through a global approach, centered on the child but also on mothers and disadvantaged communities :

  • Prevention and screening from an early age, particularly in the context of school health programs.
  • Care and surgery to meet the most urgent needs of children and their mothers.
  • Training and skills transfer to local teams through our international network of experts in all areas of surgery.
  • Construction and equipment of hospital structures adapted to local needs.

POST AND MISSION

Within the Purchasing and Logistics Department, under the responsibility of the pharmacist responsible for medical purchases, your mission is to manage the ( BDD ) database as well as monitor medical purchases and the supply chain.

Medical purchasing database

  • Create the article sheets for new references on the basis of information transmitted by buyers and suppliers
  • Update tariff data based on price developments and trade agreements
  • Manage the knowledge base of medical articles (supplier catalogues, technical data sheets, regulatory and customs data)

Procurement

  • Participate in various market research
  • Participate in the prospection of new suppliers within the framework of the diversification of the sources of’supply and in the analyses of the different families of’achats

Administration of medical purchases in support of buyers of the’association

  • Monitor the correct execution of supplier deliveries in connection with the logistics manager and the supplier
  • Prepare the validation of the invoicing of the suppliers, manage the physical files and archive them
  • Follow the resolution of disputes (delivery incidents, billing error..), at the supplier in connection with the’ buyer concerned.

Transversal activities

  • Creation of procedures, review of internal processes
  • It may also be required to take charge of stock management or international freight files in a global vision of the supply chain

TRAINING & SKILLS

Training / Experience

Level of’studies required: BAC+3 minimum in International Trade, LEA course trade, Logistics, Purchasing or Supply chain

An interest in medical purchases and/or experience in the field of purchasing would be a plus.

Skills and qualities required

  • Good oral and written communication skills in French
  • Good level of’anglais (other language appreciated)
  • Knowledge of the workings of international NGOs
  • Knowledge and interest in humanitarian and medical actions are assets
  • Very good relationship, know how to work in a team and with multiple interlocutors
  • Patience, flexibility, versatility and adaptability
  • Excellent organizational skills,’anticipation and reactivity in the face of the unplanned’
  • Great curiosity and strong interest in the Operational’
  • Dynamism, reactivity, resistance to stress, ability to work on multiple files at the same time
  • Rigor, analytical and synthesis capacity
  • Mastery of the Pack Office computer tool

CONDITIONS

  • Status : 6-month, full-time internship
  • Position based at the Siege of’association, 75015 Paris
  • Start date: end of March 2024
  • Gratification: 4.35 euros /hour (on a 35h/week basis)
  • Tickets Meals from’a value of 10.83 euros supported at 60%
  • Refund transport subscription up to 50%
