THE POST

Purpose of the post :

Under the direct supervision of the Team Leader Meiganga / Djohong Programme, ’Assistant (e) Relance Agricole is responsible(e) for the direct implementation of the activities of the project(s) related to its technical field and the follow-up of these in accordance with the plan work established.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Main responsibilities :

L’Assistant Relance agricole will have for mission :

  • Ensure project implementation in accordance with established plans ;
  • Participate in the process of defining vulnerability criteria with communities, setting up targeting committees,’ identification and selection of beneficiaries
  • Set up Peasant School Fields (CEP), train members of agricultural groups on the’ approach, the themes and technical routes identified ;
  • Follow agricultural campaigns, accompany and support farmers in their practices, the difficulties they encounter and in the search for solutions ;
  • Promote and disseminate agroecological techniques and sustainable management of natural resources ;
  • Ensure good collaboration with MINADER/Head of agricultural post and carry out training, supervision and joint visits ;
  • Promote the participation of all population groups in the project, including beneficiaries, non-beneficiaries, local authorities, local leaders, young people, women and special needs groups ;
  • Participate in the development of the community network and strengthen the group-WITH-agricultural, commercial and micro-credit agency relations
  • Accompany the coaches in the follow-up of the beneficiaries and contribute to the strengthening of their capacities
  • Strengthen the capacities of producers and support them in the structuring of groups/POs/cooperatives, their integration into agricultural sectors
  • Participate in the updating of monitoring tools and databases, collect and transmit all the information necessary for the monitoring of the project to the Team Leaders program ;
  • Contribute to the various surveys and evaluations carried out under the programme (including monitoring of contracts) ;
  • Prepare and implement all activities related to’information of beneficiaries and stakeholders ;
  • Write or contribute to the writing of the reports requested by the Team Leader program ;
  • Support the’ project management team in the organisation of supervision visits of national, regional, etc…
  • Support, at the request of N+1 and/or N+2, socio-economic operational themes and protection, any other relevant tasks assigned by the supervisor.
  • Contribute to the strengthening of links and coordination between the protection teams and ECREC in the operational aspects of the project

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  1. Qualifications & experience

Education: (include certificates, licenses etc.)

Bac + 2 minimum in a relevant field (higher technician in agriculture, agro-economics, rural development, or technical professional trainer in the field, etc, or any other equivalent degree in a relevant field preferably in’agriculture)

Experience and technical skills :

  • Minimum one (01) years of’ relevant experience particularly in national or international NGOs in a similar position, experience with DRC would be an asset ;
  • Two (2) years of’sexperience working in programmes of’agriculture /rural development ;
  • Experience in training, technical advice and’farmer supervision ;
  • Ability to transmit skills through theoretical and practical training in an effective, clear and precise manner ;
  • Ability to collect data via tablet (kobo) ;
  • Practical knowledge of Excel, Word ; software ;
  • Knowledge of the’ intervention area ;
  • Good oral and written communication skills ;
  • Be flexible and able to work under pressure ;
  • Good knowledge of local languages (Fulfulde, Gbaya, Sango..) ;
  • Motorcycle driving license (A) would be an asset ;
