MINIMUM LEVEL OF’STUDIES REQUIRED:

Training : Completion of university studies in finance, economics, business administration or accounting .

Experience: At least 6 years of professional experience.

Language knowledge : Mastery (level C) of French and’anglais.

MAIN FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (indicative and non-exhaustive list)

  1. Provide staff with assistance on applicable procedures and technical support in the financial and budgetary areas to ensure compliance with financial management policies and rules and the Financial Regulations the WFP.
  2. Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures, and in the definition and implementation of appropriate accounting procedures, systems and internal controls.
  3. Monitor cash flow on a daily basis to optimize the use of surpluses and maximize return on investments through the liquidity portfolio.
  4. Monitoring the centralized registry system to process all internal staff payments and external vendor invoices in a timely manner and in accordance with WFP standards.
  5. Contribute to the preparation, implementation and monitoring of budgets and to the monitoring of expenditure and budget forecasts, to ensure that future funding needs are met.
  6. Consult with other teams to ensure that all financial and administrative services are delivered efficiently and in accordance with the needs of the entire team.
  7. Monitor account balances and handle financial transactions rigorously and in a timely manner to avoid overdrafts.
  8. Carry out the monitoring and analysis of general accounting accounts to undertake corrective actions and carry them out.
  9. Gather data from the WFP database and systems to help generate and analyze monthly financial reports.
  10. Assign tasks to other support staff, including, provide guidance and on-the-job training in the management of financial resources (management of temporary advance and auxiliary accounts, etc, review and analysis of accounts payable and balance sheet accounts, etc.), to ensure that services are provided consistently and in accordance with required standards.
  11. To remain on standby and to respect the uses in terms of preparation for situations of’urgency, and, to respond immediately to the needs of financial services in country offices and field offices in the event of a crisis.
