WHAT WE DO …
SOLIDARITY INTERNATIONAL (SI)is an association of’ international humanitarian aid which, for more than 40 years, has been helping people who are victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters by responding to vital needs, drinking, eating, sheltering. Particularly engaged in the fight against diseases related to unhealthy’, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions an expertise in the field of’access to drinking’water,’sanitation and the promotion of hygiene but also in that, essential, food security and means of’. Present in about twenty countries, IS teams composed of’expatriates, national staffs, permanent staff at headquarters, some volunteers…intervene with professionalism and commitment in respect of cultures.
OFFER DESCRIPTION
Attached(e) to the Sahel Regional Directorate covering the countries of Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Chad and Cameroon, the/referent(e) desk has the following role :
- He/she is the/the guarantor of the implementation of the Programmatic Strategy at the level of the desk and the countries of intervention’
- He/she supports the Regional Director (DR) in the definition of the strategy of the countries of’ intervention.
- He/she participates in the definition and the respect of the Strategic Programmes of the countries of the Desk
- He/she is in charge of monitoring the proper implementation, and, the relevance and quality of the projects developed on the missions, depending on humanitarian needs and within the framework of annual programming.
+ In the absence of DR, he/she replaces it in its current operational functions (excluding security management) and provides the link with the Country Directors.
- It’ is a position requiring a real strength of strategic proposal at the desk, and strong capabilities of support to missions for the definition and implementation of projects. The candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong pragmatism combined with a relevant operational vision.

An essential link between headquarters and the field, the/referent program has an extremely rich and varied spectrum of functions :

- Representation /External coordination
Displacement land : 3 To 4 missions/year, duration from 15 to 20 days.
YOUR PROFILE
Training and experience :
- 3 Years minimum on program coordination functions or field coordinator
- Previous experience in project management in headquarters appreciated.
- Significant experience in partnership development or consortium project management.
- Training/Experience in economic & social sciences specialty food/nutrition, agronomy or equivalent highly appreciated.
- English and French, read, spoken and written
- Experience and expertise of the Sahel highly desired
Skills and qualifications required :
Your field experience in coordination functions has necessarily brought you skills in project management and definition of operational strategies. You also have a great ability to operationalize a strategy, conceptualize and plan a project and synthesize and disseminate’ information.
More classically, your practice of’anglais is perfectly fluid and you are also perfectly at’aise with the Pack Office.
IF YOU WILL OFFER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS
- Position based at the regional office of Solidarity International, in Dakar with field trips
- 12 Month renewable CDD contract.
- Salary : According to the’experience, from 3190 euros gross per month, as well as’un Per Diem monthly. SI also covers accommodation costs as well as travel costs between the country of origin of the expatriate’ and the place of mission.
- Possibility of individual housing pack.
- Social coverage: L’expatriate(e) benefits from’a quality social cover to cover all health costs and’an accident contingency including war risks.
- Break: During the mission, work-rest alternation is provided by breaks planned every three months with an allowance of 850 USD. Based on a one-year’ mission : breaks from 7 working days to 3, 6 and 9 months of mission (with a contribution of 850 USD paid by Solidarity).To these break times, we must add the’granting of’an additional rest day per month worked or 12 days more for a one-year contract.
