Created in 1979, Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization that fights hunger in the world. Its charter of humanitarian principles – independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, transparency – has been the basis of its identity for more than 40 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of undernutrition, in particular during and after emergencies related to conflicts and natural disasters. The Head Of Department MEAL leads the successful implementation of monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning systems for programs and projects, both new and established, ensuring efficiency in project deliverables. The HOD is also to provide technical support to the MEAL team on the implementation of an effective system to monitor progress, outcomes, impacts and successes of project activities and performance at all levels:
More specifically, the HOD MOEAL will be responsible for the following missions:
Overall technical support and accountable for the implementation of AAH MEAL systems
Support property and timely reporting of MEAL activities in collaboration with other departments
Build the capacity of MEAL team through trainings, mentorships and coaching to ensure quality control and successful implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities
Ensure capitalization and effective implementation of knowledge management systems for all projects activities in the mission
Efficient resource management: HR, Finance and assets
Represent the organization at national level and promote AAH’s technical viewpoints, guidelines and methods of work
You hold a Master’s degree in Economics, Social Sciences, Business, Administration, statistics, demographic or related subject, with a minimum of 5 to 7 years of previous experience working with NGOs
You have a minimum of 2 years of previous experience in coordination level position; Proven management and coordination skills (HR, projects, and stress management);
You have a proven ability to translate analysis and evaluation into operational planning and strategy; and;
You have knowledge and experience in qualitative and quantitative data management techniques including profitable and skilled use of Microsoft Office package, SPSS, STATA, EXCEL, Epi-info software’s, Power BI; and;
You have an excellent written and spoken English, including the ability to write clear and engaging reports;
You have an experience in nutrition, health, WASH and/or food security and livelihood programming; and;
