About this job

We are looking for two Operations Analysts ( AO ) with knowledge of project management of preference with financing from multilateral organizations, to support all stages of the cycle of loan operations and technical cooperations for the IDB Representation in Ecuador. We also want to identify candidates for future positions, whether they are regular employees or consultants.

The AP will be under the direct supervision of the Chief of Operations of the Representation and performs a variety of operational functions in coordination with the Chiefs of Operations Team, and trust specialists related to the design, execution and monitoring of loan projects and technical cooperations financed by the Bank that are assigned to it.

This is what you will do

  •  Support the design, supervision and closure of development projects, with special emphasis on multi-year and annual planning, risk identification, and continuous monitoring for compliance with the provisions of the results matrix of each assigned loan operation.
  •  Maintain close relationship with the Project Executing Units in charge, responding to their queries, learning needs and other requirements expeditiously and with high levels of quality.
  •  Support monitoring of the execution of procurement plans, and financial advising executors on procedural matters when appropriate.
  •  Support the financial management trust team in managing the recruitment and on-time delivery of audit reports. Monitor compliance with contractual clauses and their registration in the corresponding systems.
  •  Support in the preparation of internal reports requested by the Chief of Operations related to the activities of the function, monitoring of operational products, support in risk analysis, follow-up to semi-annual progress reports, support for compliance with disbursement projections, project completion reports and supervision plans.
  •  Collect operational data for business intelligence in order to inform risk management and capacity development of the project executing units.
  •  Collaborate and support the interpretation of operational and portfolio data, its trends and analysis of results using statistical techniques.
  •  Develop visualizations, infographics and boards. Collaborate with project team leaders in activities involving operational data.
  •  Support all innovative and digital transformation initiatives led by the IDB Representation operational team in Ecuador.

This is what you need

  • Education: You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the areas of engineering, economics, finance, accounting, business administration, or other related careers, preferably with graduate studies in management and/or project management and experience in fiduciary aspects.
  • Experience: You have at least 1 year of experience ( 3 years, desirable ) in project management preferably in a multilateral institution, or in the public and / or private sector with international financing. Knowledge of national procurement rules and policies and of multilateral financial organizations or bilateral cooperation agencies. Certification in financial management and acquisitions is a plus. Experience in preparing reports and reports.
  • Specialization areas: Development, economy, business administration, project management, multilateral development entities, international cooperation or non-profit entities.
  • Languages: You have a professional level of Spanish and English with oral and written command.

Requirements

  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of Ecuador or have a residence or legal permit to work in Ecuador.
  • Consanguinity: He has no family members ( up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including the spouse ) who work at the IDB, IDB Invest or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

Contract for national officials, 3 years ( renewable ).
