The International Secretariat which carries out the daily missions of the FIDH is made up of an international team of 70 employees based at the headquarters in Paris and in other offices (Belgium, Switzerland, Netherlands, Thailand, Colombia, African continent ), as well as consultants working occasionally on different programs. It is structured into an Operations and Programs Department and an Advocacy Department as well as Support Departments (Communication, Finance, Fundraising, Human Resources, etc.).

We are recruiting a: INTERN IN THE ECONOMIC, HUMAN RIGHTS AND ENVIRONMENT OFFICE – 6 MONTHS

The intern will participate in the development activities of the “Economic Actors, Human Rights and Environment” Office and will provide support to the numerous ongoing projects. Within a department made up of 7 employees, he/she will be particularly associated with the following activities:

  • Analysis of business practices in the light of human rights and responsible investment principles,
  • The preparation and holding of online and/or events in Europe or internationally, such as workshops with member organizations, experts and decision-makers,
  • Carrying out research on issues relating to the responsibility of economic actors and initiatives in terms of due diligence with support for the preparation of notes, articles or press releases, missions on this theme,
  • Documentary monitoring concerning the subject “Business and human rights”,
  • Updating the website and other communication tools,
  • The publication of the bi-monthly Newsletter on business and human rights,
  • Contribution to various day-to-day administrative tasks,
  • Depending on needs and current events, the intern may participate in other files,

Profile of the intern:

  • Currently in higher education in law / international law / human rights or business rights / international relations / Political Sciences / economics
  • Good oral and written communication in French (level C1), English (C1), mastery of another language, particularly Spanish, is an asset.
  • Knowledge already acquired on the theme of “business and human rights” and in particular on that of “responsible investment”.
  • Writing skills and affinities for research
  • Familiarity with environmental/climate issues related to human rights.
  • Experience in the digital communication or web design sector is appreciated (Twitter, Canva, Mailjet…).
  • In total agreement with the work values ​​of the International Secretariat of the FIDH (professionalism, respect, commitment, equality, integrity, participation, audacity), as well as with the fights carried out by the FIDH for the defense of the human rights of all , throughout the world, explained in particular in its statutes and through its publications accessible from its website: www.fidh.org .

Conditions :

  • Full-time internship (39 hours per week) taking place at FIDH headquarters in Paris and partly teleworking.
  • Mandatory condition: have an internship agreement issued by a French educational establishment.
  • Monthly bonus of €659.76. Dematerialized restaurant voucher card with a face value of €9, 60% covered by the FIDH. Sustainable mobility package for home-work travel
  • 12 days of RTT over the period and acquisition of 2 days of paid leave per month

  • Excellent writing skills and an affinity for research.
  • Familiarity with environmental/climate issues linked to human rights.
  • Experience in digital communications or web design is appreciated (Twitter, Canva, Mailjet, etc.).
