Texas GOP lost $1 million to a Democrat over blind faith in Trump. Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick of Texas, a Trump supporter who promised a minimum of $25,000 to anybody who could unearth evidence of voting fraud in the 2020 election, has finally paid out his first prize – to a progressive who discovered evidence of Republican wrongdoing.

According to The Dallas Morning News, the unexpected recipient, Eric Frank, a poll worker from Chester County, Pennsylvania, will get the $25,000 minimum. Ralph Thurman, a 72-year-old Republican voter, was apparently captured on camera attempting to vote twice — once for himself and once for his son, a registered Democrat.

Thurman pled guilty to voting twice last month. According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, he was sentenced to three years of probation and is now barred from voting for the next four years. During the aftermath of Donald Trump’s election defeat in November of last year, Patrick stated that he would be providing up to $1 million “to promote, encourage, and reward those who come forward and expose voter fraud.”

The GOP pledged that anyone who provided information that resulted in a conviction would be paid at least $25,000, and urged potential informants to contact their local police.Patrick said at the time, “I applaud President Trump’s efforts to discover voter fraud in the presidential election and his dedication to ensuring that every legal vote is tallied and every illegitimate vote is invalidated.”

“President Trump’s pursuit of voter fraud is critical not just for determining the outcome of this election, but also for maintaining our democracy and restoring confidence in future elections.” However, Patrick’s bounty, which was supposed to nab Democratic fraudsters, looks to have backfired. “It’s just so ironic, in my opinion… They were looking for evidence of voter fraud from a Democrat. And it turns out that it was a Republican voter, at least in the example I observed.

In fact, I believe it blew up in their faces a little bit “In an interview with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow last week, Frank said. “I never imagined I’d be compensated in a million years.” According to CNN, this isn’t the first time Republicans have been found attempting to rig the 2020 election.
