Opening for Senior Assessment Officer with REACH Initiative

REACH is a unique humanitarian NGO, which provides research, data, and analysis to support more effective humanitarian action in crisis contexts worldwide. By providing precise and reliable information on the humanitarian situation of populations in Ukraine, REACH’s work informs better delivery of aid and more transparent decision making. In Ukraine, REACH has a supportive and closely working team, spread across seven offices, all of whom are dedicated to producing high quality research to improve the situation for people in Ukraine.
REACH is seeking a qualified researcher with previous experience in quantitative data collection or analysis to join our growing team as Senior Assessment Officer. The SAO will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation and follow-up of the longitudinal survey research cycle, in close coordination with other team members and with relevant external partners. In doing so, the Senior Assessment Officer will ensure effective management of the project and resources, including line-management of national and international staff.
The SAO will lead the analysis, output production and dissemination of results. The SAO will also be in charge of overseeing the continuous improvement of the data management system while updating the survey to the changing context and supervising the data collection cycle and quality assurance. The SAO will manage the field officer and assessment officer and will coordinate with the longitudinal data officer and GIS officer..
Duties and Areas of Responsibility
- Research methodology design and planning
- Overseeing quantitative data collection
- Quantitative data analysis with special focus on longitudinal/timeseries data
- Production of written outputs (briefs, factsheets and reports) based on quantitative analysis results
- Coordinating with key actors on refugees and returnee response, identifying data gaps, and presentation of research results to relevant external partners
Person Specification
- 3+ years’ experience in conducting quantitative research
- Demonstrated experience in drafting high-quality information products
- Prior experience in the humanitarian sector desirable
- Fluency in Ukrainian and/or Russian, and good spoken English required
- Very good English writing skills are required
- Highly motivated and passionate about improving the humanitarian response in Ukraine
Terms and Conditions
This full-time post is for an initial 6 months, with the possibility of renewal following successful completion. We offer a competitive salary, in line with the candidate’s experience and skills.
