RFP #3294500 – Market Analysis of Potential Climate Finance Funding Opportunities At World Vision


World Vision International, together with its Vision Fund with the offices across the globe that make up the World Vision Partnership, (“World Vision”) invites your organization to submit a proposal for the Market Analysis of Potential Climate Finance Funding Opportunities based on the terms and conditions set forth in this Request For Proposal (RFP).

VisionFund International (VFI) is the microfinance subsidiary of World Vision International and its financial inclusion work complements World Vision’s long-term developmental and disaster response interventions. VFI is an INGO based in the US and oversees a global network of 25 microfinance institutions (MFIs) which are in turn registered in the various Countries of operation as financial institutions and regulated by Central Banks. VisionFund focuses on empowering families to create income and jobs through micro credit, insurance and access to savings particularly focusing on those who have no access to formal financial services. VFI has a number of products and services that support climate adaptation and mitigation and has mapped these as part of our climate adaptation initiatives. Globally, VFI has a portfolio of over $500m, lending to around 1m clients globally. Around 70% of clients are women, 62% live in rural areas and 39% borrow for agriculture.

VFI seeks the services of a skilled and knowledgeable consultant for a short-term consultancy that would (a) identify green inclusive finance sources and funding mechanisms aligned with VFI’s needs and priorities, and (b) propose the steps and strategies to acquire such funding. This funding is sought to support our network and partners to manage their current and potential climate-related risks, align better with our parent organization’s climate strategies (World Vision), and, most importantly, protect our clients and World Vision beneficiaries by enhancing their ability to mitigate and adapt to the effects of changing climates.

Timing

We intend to select a consultant as soon as possible, and final deliverables are expected to be completed by December 2024. The technical application should clearly outline the anticipated duration, steps and level of engagement proposed for the work from inception to final report.

Assessment Criteria

  • Quality and performance and Demonstrated excellence in service and support on a global basis, supported with portfolio, contracts and previous work.
  • Suitability of the solution to VFIs current and future needs on climate financing
  • Quality of the proposal
  • Ability to meet requirements as specified by VFI
  • Competitive pricing: best in class and globally competitive.
  • Ability to deliver the requested services by the required dates.
