SUMMARY OF L’OFFRE

Founded in 1994, the International Bureau for Children’s Rights — « The » or « IBCR » — Office is an international non-governmental organization working for the protection and promotion of the rights of the child in the world. Driven by the ideal of a world where the rights of the child are fully respected and implemented, the Office seeks to contribute to the promotion and protection of these rights by remaining faithful to its values: responsibility, collaboration and respect. Wherever it intervenes, the Office adapts its interventions to the local context and to the needs of its partners. It seeks to enhance local knowledge and promotes the participation of children, with the aim of generating a lasting impact.

Under the supervision of the senior research and advocacy advisor, the research advisor (focal point gender and inclusion) will be responsible for’ supporting and monitoring the development of various research initiatives and deliverables, as well as’ to gender equality and’inclusion.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the preparation and review of research processes, initiatives and deliverables (including information monitoring, mapping and project inventory).
  • Produce studies, analyses, research or draft positions, according to the requests.
  • Acting as a gender focal point and inclusion in the Bureau : provide advice and follow-up on the implementation of the strategies of’equality between the genders of the various projects as well as the institutional policy on gender equality.
  • Perform Gender-based comparative analysis + of projects.
  • Contribute to define the’ institutional approach of’ equality between genders and’inclusion within the’a rights-based approach.
  • Carry out follow-up and training visits and report on the’ status of projects, issues, recommended adjustments and lessons learned.
  • To guide and support the development of’skills building tools for the project partners.
  • Offer training on its field of’expertise to IBCR staff and volunteers and participate in mentoring activities.
  • Contribute to activities related to monitoring & evaluation processes.
  • Support the preparation and review of certain processes, initiatives and deliverables related to advocacy.
  • Supervise internships within its division.
  • Participate, in collaboration with the’ program and learning team, in the capitalization of learning.
  • Participate in the development of project proposals, in connection with its expertise.
  • Represent the Office at’events or’activities or within networks on gender and’inclusion issues.
  • Ensure the preparation and review of research processes, initiatives and deliverables (including information monitoring, mapping and project inventory).

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES

REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate or postgraduate academic studies in international development, law, political science, anthropology, social work, psychology, sociology, or a related field. A combination of training and equivalent experience could be considered.
  • At least 3 years of’ professional experience in’one or more of the following areas: research,’s, gender equality and’inclusion, advocacy, advocacy, human rights (particularly the rights of the’child).
  • Excellent command of spoken and written French as well as’a second language (spanish and/or english).
  • Master of the Microsoft Office 365 suite.
  • Very good editorial and research skills.
  • Good skills to work in ( team including in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams ), dynamism, and proactivity.
  • Own a strategic vision.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple files simultaneously.

HOLIDAYS

  • Experience in several of the following areas of intervention: research, gender equality and inclusion, advocacy, human rights ( in particular children’s rights ).
  • Have already produced or contributed significantly to comparative analyzes between the sexes ( + ).
  • Capacity for innovation, creativity and flexibility
