ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

WFP in Latin America is looking to strengthen and diversify its partnership base with aim to secure the sustainability of operations across the region to further SD2 and the broader SDG 2030 Agenda. To this end, WFP is looking for a Junior consultant to help enhance WFP’s relations with the donor community and increase the visibility of WFP’s work on the ground.

JOB PURPOSE

The consultant will use data analysis to present the impact of WFP’s work and to support the enhancement of the relations with existing partners and the scope of new ones. The consultant will also support the production of other relevant donor outreach materials – including updates, stories to support social media engagement, and other related materials.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  • Use data analysis and database management to present well-researched ideas to expand support from existing partners and to scope new partners, guided by programmatic assessment and context-specific analysis with the aim to enhance the impact of WFP’s work and diversify the resource base.
  • Ensure and/or perform accurate, timely reporting of data of expenditure/disbursement and project results reports for donors to support effective collaboration, implementation, and monitoring of ongoing project activities.
  • Gather and present internal and external financial data/information, using key information systems (e.g. Salesforce, WINGS, WFPGo), to produce analysis and information products.
  • Use statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in data sets that could be helpful for the diagnosis and preparation of reports with relevant data.
  • Prepare a range of donor briefs, reports, data analysis, dashboards, presentations with well research ideas regarding funding opportunities and contributions data.
  • Prepare a range of donor and topic briefs, and support RBP and COs with Salesforce.

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF CONTRACT

  • Tables, graphs, and other infographics in suitable format for reporting and illustration purpose.
  • Donor outreach materials: Donor updates / external outreach documents / Dashboards; and other documents as required.
  • Project proposals.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: University degree in Economics, International Relations, Information Management or other relevant field, or obtaining the First University degree in the next 12 months but with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses

Experience: A minimum of 1 year of relevant progressive work experience in resource mobilization, partnership engagement, data analysis, proposal writing and/or a relevant field of work, with a background and interest in international development

Languages: Fluency (Level C) in English and Spanish.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience in donor relations, proposal writing and identifying funding opportunities.
  • Experience in data analysis and preparation of dashboards and presentations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including substantive report writing skills.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate, work and successfully communicate within a multicultural working environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, solutions focused.
  • Proactive, independent, uses initiative, and with ability to plan and organize their work and deliver timely, high-quality results.
  • Ability to work under pressure and stressful situations.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to work as a team player and coordinate positively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Tableau
