
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The Logistics Assistant/Base Logistician is responsible for supporting the implementation of HEKS/EPER logistics procedures in Quibdo, Chocó, in coordination and under the direction of the Administrative Coordinator and the Logistics/Administrative Technician.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
Secondary education and technical qualification or university degree in International Trade,
logistics management, business administration, business, economics or similar.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience in logistics, especially knowledge of standards applicable to procurement procedures.
- Experience working with UNICEF, either directly or as a sub-implementing partner.
REQUIRED SKILLS

Provisioning
- Control of compliance with standards in purchasing procedures
- Negotiation of prices, deadlines and delivery methods with suppliers
- Management and updating of the database of regular suppliers
- Monitoring relationships with suppliers
- Updating price lists and supplier files
- Creation and updating of contracts, under the supervision of the Logistics/Administrative Technician.
- Coordination of supplies and deliveries for projects, exercising control over the purchasing process, identifying suppliers, and ensuring that the procedures and logistics tools established by HEKS for this purpose are respected.
- Ensure that supporting documents meet the requirements of the law, donor regulations, and HEKS internal regulations.
Operational Logistics
- General services and office maintenance, power supply
- Management and supervision of telecommunications and computer equipment: updating antivirus software, ensuring the maintenance and correct use of computer equipment
- Active participation in the installation, rehabilitation, redeployment, and closure of the office, if necessary,
- Consolidation of logistics reporting information from the Quibdo, Chocó office
Movements
- Weekly movement planning
- Vehicle reservation and rental management for program staff movements.
Storage
- Monthly inventory update for the Quibdo, Chocó office
- Management of the delivery of equipment to staff and its storage when necessary
- Storage management, control and updating of stock lists
Security
- Support in updating the security plan
- Ensure the safe and confidential storage of documentation.
PEAS
- Examine past violations of the Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Protection Policy, as well as violations of other codes of conduct and policies (such as fraud, corruption, or abuse of power), during the recruitment process
- Ensure that all staff sign the organization’s code of conduct
- Incorporate a clause relating to the PEAS into contracts and contractual agreements formalized with staff, also when subcontracting.
- Facilitate communication with staff during investigations initiated following a SEA complaint
- Maintain staff documents linked to the PEAS, in particular signed codes of conduct

The main location of the project is Quibdó, Chocó. However, for the successful development of project activities and HEKS EPER’s strategy in the area, frequent business trips to hard-to-reach locations in the departments of Chocó and Antioquia will be necessary.
The contract will last 12 months, with a possible renewal. The contracting process is expected to conclude by the end of April 2025.
