COOPI is looking for a Humanitarian Grants Manager at the Milan office

The Development and Knowledge Area is an integral part of the Department for International Activities of COOPI. Its mandate is to guide the design and implementation of COOPI’s institutional financing strategy, and to coordinate, cultivate and promote the knowledge and quality of the organization’s programs. The figure of Humanitarian Grants Manager will contribute to the promotion of partnerships, acquisition and management of funds from humanitarian women such as ECHO and USAID, specialized United Nations agencies and other institutional humanitarian women. It will act as a guide to regional and national coordination in the strategic positioning with these donors, in the design and management of the contracts acquired. It will also be instrumental in identifying and developing new institutional funding for the organization.

responsibility

  • It helps guide the positioning process with the main humanitarian donors of COOPI and explore new partnerships, promoting a strategic vision of positioning with the reference humanitarian donors, raising awareness and informing the organization of innovative opportunities and programmatic tracks;
  • Contributes to the management of the Partnership Certificate with DG ECHO, monitoring, analyzing and reporting on the correct application of the contractual framework, and provides support to site services to comply with these requirements at all stages of project cycle management;
  • It ensures the knowledge and adhesion of the organization to the technical-sectoral policies and operating standards of the reference donors, as well as promotes compliance with the rules and regulations on donor subsidies, including rfinancial requirements, due diligence processes and audit requirements, communication and visibility;
  • Identifies calls and other financing opportunities from institutional financiers for COOPI activities, studying their access and management methods and coordinating the acquisition process, supporting national and regional coordination in the writing and presentation of qualitative and strategic proposals, verifying their economic-financial analysis in collaboration with the figures in charge;
  • It contributes to carrying out a systematic analysis of needs and gaps on the design at all levels of the organization and to the production of reflections and good practices on the management of institutional funding within the Development & Knowledge area;
  • Support the contract management, with particular responsibility for contractual changes and reporting, and acts as an advisor in strategic communication with the donor throughout the implementation of the project and as a helpdesk on donor compliance issues;
  • Develops and disseminates training tools, guidelines and information documents on how to work with relevant humanitarian donors and related operational topics, and collaborates closely with the MEAL Area to ensure programmatic quality throughout the project cycle;
  • Contributes to representing and positioning the organization as a leading humanitarian actor with relevant organizations and networks / networks, and to participate in the working groups and major events promoted in the humanitarian sector, especially at European level;
  • It interprets its role flexibly and welcomes new assignments and development opportunities.

Profile sought

Essential requirements

  • Masters in humanitarian studies, development cooperation, international relations, or the like
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive professional experience in similar roles
  • Proven experience of acquiring and managing funds from humanitarian donors such as ECHO, AICS, USAID / US Government, UN agencies and other international bilateral donors
  • Field humanitarian project management experience
  • Excellent knowledge of English and French
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills
  • Ability to work under stress, communicate effectively and promptly
  • Orientation to results and problem solving

Desirable requirements

  • Knowledge of Spanish
  • Training experience
