
IT Systems Supervisor – Administration
The European Free Trade Association (EFTA) is an intergovernmental organisation working for the promotion of free trade and economic integration to the benefit of its four Member States Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
The EFTA Secretariat provides services to the EFTA States and has offices in Geneva, Brussels and Luxemburg. The Headquarters in Geneva services the EFTA Council and supplies services for policy development, negotiations and implementation of free trade and cooperation agreements with countries outside the European Union. The Brussels office supports the management of the EEA Agreement and assists the Member States in the elaboration of input to EU decision making. EFTA’s Luxembourg office contributes to the development of the European Statistical system.

Role Description
The IT team comprises of four IT Systems Supervisors that report to the Head of IT. Together they work towards a high-quality IT environment in an ambitious international organisation. The IT team is a part of the Administrative Division, providing the EFTA Secretariat and the Financial Mechanism Office (FMO) with excellent internal services. The IT team is responsible for providing information services to about 170 end-users in Brussels, Geneva and Luxembourg.
We are looking for an experienced IT Professional for a Systems Supervisor role. The successful candidate will have a wide range of challenging technical responsibilities, such as:
- Application and systems management, both cloud and on-prem
- Network and firewall management in a hybrid environment
- Identity and access management
- Manage projects with external technical consultants
- Contribute to the planning and development of IT infrastructure and strategy
- Develop and maintain technical documentation
- Take part in other daily operations with the other team members
Essential Skills
- Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Azure and hands-on experience on building and operating Azure-based hybrid infrastructure
- Experience with design and implementation of networking, firewall solutions and/or storage systems
- Experience with high availability virtualization platforms like VMware clusters
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent training and experience
- Structured, pragmatic and analytical organisational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Pro-active attitude and the ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team in an international environment
- Flexible and service minded
- Excellent oral and written command of English, the working language of EFTA.
Ideal Skills
- Experience from working with MS SharePoint solutions
- Experience managing SQL databases and reporting solutions
- Familiar with PKI and Public Certificate management
- Familiar with cloud security framework

Grade: B6 Annual starting salary: EUR 69.146 (salaries are normally exempt from income taxation; additional benefits and allowances may apply)
