IT Systems Engineer At Habitat for Humanity


Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a talented professional for the role of IT Systems Engineer for its Latin America & the Caribbean region. Reporting to LAC IT Manager – Service Delivery, the IT System Engineer will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the organization’s information technology infrastructure. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of IT systems, with a focus on Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft Power Platform administration, as well as expertise in the Integration of Systems, Databases and applications, finally supporting the AO and NOs in infrastructure, policies, and security matters, as well as providing technical support on the official finance/accounting system.

This position will be remotely-based within a country in the Latin America & Caribbean region where Habitat has an entity and the employee can already legally work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing and optimizing Microsoft 365 and Power Platform for enhanced organizational efficiency.
  • Implementing and managing cloud solutions with Microsoft Azure, including configuring services, security, and scalability.
  • Developing and maintaining SQL Server relational databases, ensuring optimization, security, and availability.
  • Ensuring the security and integrity of IT systems.
  • Experience in deploying systems and applications in production environments, ensuring smooth transition and integration with existing systems.
  • Take the lead on projects aimed at implementing new infrastructure, systems, and applications.
  • Managing IT support tickets, ensuring SLA compliance and end-user satisfaction through efficient incident and request resolution.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address IT-related issues and implement effective solutions, including integrations between various systems to ensure seamless operation.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and the IT Manager to actively identify automation opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements and innovations.
  • Providing support for events and end users, accounting for approximately 5% of the role’s time commitment.
  • Supporting the financial system, preferably with knowledge of VBA macros in Excel.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in scripting and APIs to automate processes, facilitate system integrations, and support the implementation of new IT solutions to drive innovation and efficiency within the organization.

Typical Training & Experience

Bilingual information Technology (IT) professional with strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Power Platform administration.

Required Knowledge & Expertise

  • Proficiency in English and Spanish (both written and spoken).
  • Certification in Microsoft technologies (Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure).
  • Work as a team member

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • 5 years of hands-on experience in IT system administration.
  • Experience in implementing and managing cloud solutions with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
  • Proficiency in scripting and working with APIs for system optimization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree/certification/specialization in Computer Science/Information Systems.
  • Certification in Microsoft technologies (Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure).
  • Proven track record in implementing and managing IT systems.
  • Experience in event support and financial systems, including VBA macros in Excel.
  • Deep knowledge of relational databases, certified in SQL Server is considered a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in deploying systems and applications in production, working under a support ticket model, and understanding SLAs.
