Hillary Became An Overnight Adviser to Biden And Bernie.
Hillary Clinton said she would “heart” a woman nominated “again” as vice president— but said Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders should “take a really hard look at the Electoral College to see what’s going to help.”
“There are so many factors going into it,” she said in an interview with CNN‘s Fareed Zakaria that aired Sunday. “Personally,I would love to get a woman on the ticket, at last — again. We had two women candidates for the vice presidency— one for the Democrats, one for the Republicans.”
“But clearly, I’d like to keep it going, and it actually happened that somebody would be the first woman vice president in this election,” she said.
In 2008, republican Sen. John McCain named his running mate Sarah Palin. In 1984, Democrat Walter Mondale selected Geraldine Ferraro as its veep.
But Clinton cautioned that the candidate would “take a very hard look at the electoral college and what will benefit him,” she said, referring to Biden and Sanders, Democratic presidential contenders.
“Because I think our candidate could win the popular vote again, as I did, but as we know, that doesn’t matter,” said the former New York senator.
