The Driver will be based in Togo Country Office, will report to the Togo Country Manager, and she/he expected to provide administrative, logistical support to Country and Global Practice teams.

Duties and Accountabilities

  •  Execute the daily official transportation requirement of the Country Office, and of VIP visitors.
  •  Drive a motor vehicle as requested, with due regard to time schedules, apply knowledge of driving regulations, safety requirements, traffic and conditions, and most desirable routes to minimize travel time; ensure that all rules, regulations and stated by the laws of Togo are adhered.
  •  Transport staff to/from business meetings, representation events and on visiting missions for field trips.
  •  Ensure the safety and the security of the Bank staff on board of the official vehicle at all times.
  •  Transport staff in case of situations requiring emergency medical attention during office hours.
  •  Plan, organize and execute the out of Togo car transportation as and when required.
  •  Transport business mail and for the purpose of office administration (purchasing supplies, going to the bank, collecting goods from Customs adhering to all Customs rules and procedures, loading and unloading goods).
  •  Take suitable precautions for the security of the vehicle and its contents when left unattended.
  •  Ensure the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc., performs minor repairs if possible and be able to arrange for other repairs through the appropriate channels and in conjunction with the Country Office procurement procedures. To ensure that the vehicle is kept clean, roadworthy and fully insured at all times.
  •  Record all official or private trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc. on the official office log sheet.
  •  Anticipate in any mechanic actions on the assigned official vehicle to prevent any disruption due to foreseeable break downs. From the engine to the pneumatic conditions. For instance, daily inspection of air level in the wheels, oiling for breaks, water level, etc. In summary, assure that every single part of the car is in perfect condition for being operated.
  •  Follow up on any office needs for supplies, repair, cleaning, etc.

Selection Criteria

  •  At least completed high school.
  •  An experience of at least 5 years driving with knowledge of auto mechanics.
  •  A good geographical knowledge of Togo and other countries in the sub region.
  •  A valid document for driving in the sub-region, a driver’s license for 4×4 and minibuses, a recent certificate of fitness proving that you are fit to drive.
  •  A certificate of training in auto mechanics and any other patent technical training in electronics, electricity would be an asset.
  •  An experience working in an international institution would be an advantage.
  •  Language Requirements: Ability to speak and write in French. Knowledge of English would be an asset.
  •  Knowledge of computers – MS Office is desirable.
  •  Ability to work long hours and weekends.
  •  Committed team player with demonstrated inter-personal skills and ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural/disciplinary environment and able to produce high quality work under pressure.
