Duties andResponsibilities
• Design and develop changes in assigned Careers Portal and other UN Web Portal projects to meet the dates and objectives using knowledge of complete development life cycle from analysis to deployment. • Assist the business in defining the right technical portal architecture to support the business requirements. • Participate in the preparation of all documents related to project development. • Apply in-depth knowledge of ASP.NET (C#, VB.NET), SQL, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Visual Studio, Web Services, XML, AJAX, Internet, Intranet and Client Server technologies for Portal integration to various systems. • Design data model/working with relation databases; i.e. MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL. • Carry out assignments and technical tasks in collaboration with a cross-functional team of developers, DBA, business analysts and quality assurance staffs. • Represent the team in a professional manner when dealing with internal and external clients. • Ensure that the service provided adheres to the operational standards for quality and timeliness.
Qualifications/special skillsA university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in computer science, information systems, mathematics, IT or related field. A degree/diploma in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree. 3 years of experience in development and support of web application projects Exposure or knowledge in any one RDBMS (MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL, etc.) Proficient in ASP.NET using Visual Studio, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Web Services, XML, AJAX, Internet, Intranet and Client Server technologies.
LanguagesFluency in spoken and written English is required.
