Duties andResponsibilities
The consultant will draft two needs assessment reports and two final reports on the situation of displaced populations with disabilities as a consequence of the Ukraine war to Moldova and Georgia, respectively. The consultant will contribute to the UNPRPD funded project “Mainstreaming a disability inclusive humanitarian response to the Ukrainian refugee crisis” and will be supervised by Human Rights and Disability Unit’s (HRDU) coordinator. Tasks include:
- Drafting of the needs assessments reports on Moldova and Georgia by 1 June 2023.
- Drafting of the needs assessments reports on Moldova and Georgia by 1 October 2023.
- Drafting will include: o Research o Analysis of data received from partner UN entities, the International Disability Alliance and national organizations of persons with disabilities and verification of data with these partners, including through on-line interviews and group discussions. o Coordination with field presences, undertaking key informants’ engagement.
- Review final products for UNPRPD publication
- Organize a dissemination webinar by 3 December 2023.
Qualifications/special skillsAdvanced degree in Economics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Law or other disciplines related to Public Policy Five years of experience in research, drafting of documents, and legal analysis on disability rights is required. Experience with disability rights in emergency contexts and peace and security is required.
